The Real Terrell Owens Question

Here's the thing: I don't really have an ethical problem with signing T.O. I don't like the guy at all but I'd welcome any player who could help the team. But rather than spend the big money on T.O. (and at the end of the day, it likely would be a sizable chunk of change), why not spend that money on a FS or a linebacker or perhaps the best available FA O-lineman? I think we need to draft a young WR anyways, so how about spending the FA dollars on other areas of need. That way we avoid any potential T.O. headaches, keep the team young and address certain team needs.

*LMAO*

Truly wonderful after such a descriptive scene as painted by Two Deep.

Short.

To the point.

Powerful.

Yes, if I was Hos, I might call this the post of the day.

Very kind of you sir.

All this T.O talk is really crazy to me. It's like the people who want to get him think it will put us in a Superbowl or just want to stick two fingers up at the E-girls.

We have quite a few problems on the offensive line with Allen ( who is looking good ) Rivera & Adams getting older. Nothing solid enough at center to say we are set .Petitti being a rookie ( yes a good one )that anything but improving at that position should be our main concern.

Everybody know's Drew can't move and needs time - so surly giving him that is the biggest improvement we need to make.

Ok, this is hypothetical.

Let's say Jerry dishes out enough money so T.O. is happy and glad to be in Dallas.

The first game of the season is Philly @ Dallas.

Bledsoe tosses a 65-yard strike to T.O. on the third play of the game for a touchdown.

T.O. runs to the middle of the field and puts the ball in the middle of the Star.

He puts one foot on the ball, ala Captain Morgan, and then flexes his arm muscles, like Larry Allen yesterday.

What would YOU think about this?
The only time I have ever liked this was when Emmitt did it. I liked that for the reason that he did it. I wouldn't care for it from any of our players. If TO were to do that I am sure he would get a big cheer but it wouldn't be from me. If I saw him running towards the center of the field I'd probably get up and go get a refill of water. He'd be doing it to say he's here now. I'd be remembering that he did it three times already counting the endzone one last year. I wouldn't like it at all.

Okay, last question .. in which quarter does this happen?
Initial post says 3rd play of the season. I'm guessing 1st quarter.

I think if signed by Dallas he almost has to do it to make up for the other time. Show his respect..

What exactly would he have to do to "show his respect"?

I can understand not wanting to sign him because you are unsure about his impact on the team.

But this business of him having to make amends for what he did in a game four years ago is ridiculous.

I mean, really. What would he have to do? Issue a public apology? Gouge out his eyeball with a rusty spoon?

Well, I tend to think quite a bit and since you asked, I thought I'd be completely honest about the thought process that would occur should the events happen as you stated.

First, I would think .. I wonder how long it will be before Parcells removes that play from the playbook and replaces it with a 15 yard horizontal pass?

Then, I would think .. Wow! TO must be in great condition to run 65+ yards in a full sprint then 50+ yards back to the star in the center of the field. I hope he doesn't get too tired for the rest of the game.

Then, I would think .. I wonder if he knows he's facing the visitor side of the field?

Then, I would think .. I wonder if he realizes he's standing on new turf since the last time he did this at mid-field?

Then, I would think .. TO sure does look weird wearing a Cowboys jersey.

Then, I would think .. I hope to god Parcells didn't make the Spandex bet with TO like Andy Reid did.

Then, I would think .. Oh, we'll never hear the end of it from Nors now .. not that we would have even if this didn't happen.

Then, I would think .. I hope he doesn't do this every time he catches a touchdown.

Then, I would think .. I bet half the fans at the stadium are wearing TO jerseys next home game.

And, lastly I would think ..

Wow! Talk about deja vu .. It was just a few months ago that TD3 asked about this and now it happened .. how surreal ..

Honestly, if he were a member of OUR team and did that, I wouldn't really mind.

I like cocky players, so long as they're not disruptive to our own team -- a la, IMO, Michael Irvin. If we signed TO, he can be as cocky as he wants, as long as he's not yelling at Parcells, Bledsoe, and making a lot of innane public comments.

If we signed him, he'd be this generation's Deion Sanders, if you ask me. Half the fan base will love him; half will hate him. And he'd probably get us to the Super Bowl nonetheless.
