Future needs?

Number 1 WR
Agreed but if Price works out and we give him an extension that is less of an issue. Crayton is the real deal IMO so we may be going after a new future #3 instead of a #1. I would say a big strong possession type to eventually take over for Johnson who is getting old.

I agree here also. Nguyen will need a replacement in a couple of years and James might not pan out. We have Shanle and Fowler and possibly Burnett to go inside but might need something more. Fujita will be taking over the Strongside OLB spot IMO and will likely have Burnett behind him for a couple of years.

G or T depending on Tucker/Petitti
We will need a backup for Flo for sure. Whether that is a new face making moves with Pettiti and Tucker there will have to be a new face involved...3 tackles is just not enough.

DT Glover and Fergie have age Johnson is probably just a rotation guy
Johnson and maybe Ratliff can evolve into the NT. Johnson will add some bulk and he is a gamer so we may be set for NT when Fergie/Glover declines or retires. Same could go for Ratliff since we have a lot of talent at DE now.

I think we've set our self up to truly take BPA
It is certainly the best shot we have had of going that route in a long time.

Man you just haven't been listening HENSON SUCKS! He will Suck next year and the next so get over it.

You know something. If Henson should end up being the QB of the future for this team and he becomes a good QB. Do us all a favor and stay off the bandwagon. No need for bandwagon jumpers like you to hop on if he turns out as good as some of us REAL believers in him think he will.

What makes you think he isn't?

Adams is not old if he's not hurt he's got the LT job for 3 or 4 yrs

Nothing has shown me that he isn't someone who can play every down. You're the one who made the statement that he was a rotation guy...

Flozell Adams is already like 31 years old. And it takes time for OL to be groomed just like it is quarterbacks. We'll draft his replacement next year.

You see us needing more help at OL, but I think you're dead wrong. Our receivers have 2-3 more years tops. And then we have nothing. Their aging, and we still don't have a top flight playmaker.

Larry Allen still has 2-3 years left in him. And Flozell has 4+

Price isnt a lot younger... the guy is turning 29 this year, he is two years younger than Glenn.

Nguyen is turning 30, and we just got Scott Fujita. I seriously doubt Fujita is fast enough to play outside linebacker in the 3-4, but considering Singleton is there, nothing would surprise me.

That's what I'm saying. When Henson turns out to be the real deal, these guys can start rooting for Miami or Houston for all I care.

We're drafting a receiver in the first round next year. There won't really be a need for Peerless Price or one of our veterans at this point.

You'll have

#1 Keyshawn Johnson
#2 Terry Glenn
#3 #1 Draft Pick
#4 Patrick Crayton

Where does Peerless Price fit into that? Drop Crayton to your 5th receiver? I don't think so. Not use the rookie? Again... No.

Price is a one year stop gap that might deliver us to huge gains, but a stop gap none the less. Even if Glenn can't stay healthy this year, The first rounder will be our priority next year.

Getting Fujita has put us in prime position to concentrate on offense. The only defense need we still have is getting ourselves a free safety if Keith Davis doesn't deliver, or if we don't trade for one this year (which i think we still will).

Our linebacker corp is for the most part set. Our defensive line is set (I think Thomas Johnson could definitely be our answer at Nose tackle, might have to draft a tackle early, but not too early).

We're pretty much set at corner, for at least the next two years.

We can focus on getting a better offensive line, and improving our receiving corps.

First round - receiver
Second Round - Tackle
Third Round - Receiver, Tackle, Guard, or Defensive Tackle
We Don't have a 4th round draft pick

and the rest is really more bpa than the first day.

I think we go after a guy like Martin Nance in the first round. He is 6.5, about a 4.5 40, 217 lbs.

Most of the top players next year aren't receivers, so even if we say... won the super bowl, we'd probably be in position to trade down for the receiver we wanted.

I disagree the reason we didn't give Price the long term contract, is b/c we
are not sure what kind of year he will have with Bledsoe..right now based
off his numbers last year, he is only worth the 1 year 2 million contract
that he agreed to

if he comes out and has a stellar season and him and Bledsoe light it up,
then next season..Price is offered a longer contract and possible more
money, if Price does bad the worst of it is we gave away 2 million
and a 500 thousand dollar signing bonus to get him

then we can wash our hands clean of a bad investment

Well said. I believe in Henson and I think most in this forum think he has a chance. If we are wrong so what. At least we did not quit on him like some bandwagon fans in here have.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Henson isn't the real deal he's a pretender only in it for the paycheck IMO the only reason he's still here is because he's JJ's toy project. I don't think BP thinks he's the QB of the future.
