Outstanding concepts, intriguing blocking assignments, and innovative formations this season so far. T

That back door draw play that Choice ran in was gorgeous in it's suddenness and simplicity and completely camouflaged. That was an UNSTOPPABLE PLAY based on the down and goal to go distance.

Great job, Jason. Never throw the ball twice from the half inch line again however.

TR, RW, Marty B need to seriously work on that fade business if they are gonna use it more.

Finally a person who sees the light. No one gives him credit for successful runs, only when it's a successful pass. And when it's NOT a run, he is obviously worthless as a coordinator.

I've never heard of a coordinator getting so much heat after back to back 200 yard rushing games. He's calling the run plays too.

Well you are on a cowboys forum...lol. You know that there's some saints forum out there that's trashing the **** out of Pete Carmichael because Brees didn't throw enough or something this past week, despite the easy W...You know how it goes. It can always get better, but it better and I mean better well not get worse or not quite meet expectation, that's why we love football...lol

Agree 100%.

He's been outstanding this yr.

Garrett's play design has never been the problem.

His problem is game management. Obviously every coordinator will get second-guessed after the fact, but he's made some egregious errors in judgement where he seems to outsmart himself. Just let the flow of the game dictate the playcalling - we'll be fine.

Very good point.

They run a lot of draw plays, but they have a different look to them. Romo does a great job of selling the fake, and they usually seem to be called at the right time.

One of the reasons they work so well and the yardage is being piled up is because he calls them at a good time and the execution is very good.

I know some people think he runs the lead draw too much but what it does is allows us to run the ball early due to stressing the linebackers. After we have a lead later in the game we can use our size on the O line to wear down the opponent.

I have always liked the lead draw because it makes the linebackers hesitate on pass plays as well. Once Romo gets his rhythm with this new style of offense we may put up some serious points.

Of course he gets credit for the successful runs. I think he's done an outstanding job as well, but he's not above criticism.

Garrett's playcalling is about deception. But sometimes you're just better than the other guy, and it's OK to run it down their throat.

In reflection on the goal line runs, I feel confident that he would have run if Barber had been in the game, as that's been his pattern so far. Maybe he knows something about Choice that we don't. I think Choice is a tough runner, but I don't see him in short yardage practice every week like Garrett does.

Agreed 100%. This is the biggest reason why I'd love to see Jason Garrett become our next head coach.

The more experience Tony Romo has with Jason Garrett, the better off they'll both be.

Choice has proven himself so if Garret is not willing to call his number on the goal line he needs his butt kicked.

Actually if Roy just held onto his then he'd have gotten a TD on the one thrown to him. It was in his hands, perfectly thrown really. He just didn't haul it in.

As for Garrett I'll give him his credit. He got the running game going last night and used it pretty much everywhere he needed to be. He did a much better job of managing his gameplan and all and I applaud him for it.

That's true, and that's where he's different from Norv Turner.

When I think of offensive deception, I think of Tom Landry. That's what the Cowboys were all about, especially during the 1970s. Lots of gadgets, misdirections, shifts before the snap ... even the offensive linemen stand-up hitch was supposed to hide the backfield shifts.

Garrett's offensive creativity reminds me of Landry.

Here's a tip, Marty B - "Spin Move", has no place in a fade route.
