The Refs Cheated

Not that this means anything but Mike Pereira tweeted after the chop block call that it was entirely correct and that the announcers were wrong.

This has nothing to do with the comment, but when the replacements refs were working, Mike Pereira was all about pointing out the bad calls of the replacement refs.. He's about as 'ethical' as they come...

Took away Dez forward progress......

Called BS on Claiborne.....

Bad Call on the Chop Block....

Ect....

Romo did good, so did Dez.....i can't be upset.

The back breaker was the 2 3rd and longs.....1 to Ray Rice, who nobody covered.

And the 1 where we decided to rush nobody.

Dez played good but he also choked in a big situation.

Meh. I've seen him go both ways tons of times. I really don't agree with you.

I'm sure there's a chance he was extra critical of the replacement refs, but I also think they made more smaller type mistakes for him to look at.

It was a ticky-tack call, and Pereira knows it.

The problem I see with officiating is that they let which team it is determine what is called, or at least it feels that way. A team that is "undisciplined" gets looked at harder and gets more flags thrown, sort of a self fulfilling prophecy. A disciplined team does the same thing and doesn't get a flag because they aren't being watched as hard. The Ravens were consistently holding Ware on the outside, but that never gets called, which to me seems odd considering Ware should have the reputation that would allow him to get those calls, but the only calls that you ever see involving Ware are offsides.

How is this even a real thread? The game was fixed? For what? The cowboys to cover?

I won't go so far as to blame the refs but it was one of those games where you wonder if they've got money riding on the other team lol.
I wouldn't blame the refs. But I swear, some of those call were just crazy and I'm a bit ashamed to admit that it did cross my mind that something funky was amiss.
That thought went away immediatley though.

This is exactly why I didnt want these hack regular refs back. In the short term it might be nice to have them but in the long term it will just more of the same mediocre bias officiating we have seen the last 5 years. At least the replacement refs were bad for BOTH teams.

Was the game fixed? No

Was it officiated poorly? Yes

Yes we did get a couple of calls at the end but they were so blatant they had to be called.

When i say cheated, I don't mean literally....

I don't think they would be that ********

The Refs cheat every week.

Interestingly, the same thing is being said in 10 other NFL cities today.

There was a call or two, but most were self-inflicted.
