Even Dez's most staunchest supporters can admit that he has been a disappointment since his extension. He has not been the same player we saw catching touchdowns from Romo. Personally, I believe it is more to do with injuries and rotating quarterbacks than the actual player.

Antonio Brown is thought by most as the best receiver in the league. Even Brown struggles heavily when Big Ben misses time. Imagine how Brown would perform if he spent two years playing with Matt Cassell and a (very good) rookie that he hardly practiced with. Brown would eventually find his way---but it would take time.

The main reason that I am as excited is the chemistry I saw develop as the season went on. The Dak/Dez connection was streaky as best during the majority of the season but the last 3 games were arguably their best. Dez put together his top 3 games of the season as far as catches per target. During that 3 game span, Dez put up the ridiculous stat line of 21 catches, 284 yarda and 4 touchdowns...with a passing touchdown to boot.

This chemistry is only going to get even better with a full offseason together. A full offseason of practice reps, something they haven't had, will automatically upgrade our offense.

Our offense is better when he is featured, If the end of the season tells us anything, he will be featured a lot more going into next season. Dez has a lot of doubters, that will motivate him even more.

Not worried about Dez. He and Dak are finding their rhythm, and will continue to build chemistry.

And Dez balled out in the playoff game; one of the main reasons we even had a chance to win was him. He can still dominate; but it's important to remember he's playing in what's considered a "run heavy" offense, especially compared to those other top shelf WR's.

Dez broke his foot two years ago and tried to come back too early when he saw how poorly the team was faring. I have zero issues with that.

Last year I put on Dak's situation more than anything. He was the third string QB until TC was over and the second to last PS game. He did not get a chance to practice with Dez. He could not place the fades and jump balls that are staples of Dez's game.

I wouldn't call myself a staunch supporter but I am not going to say Dez himself is a disappointment over things out of his control. Sometimes **** just happens and no one has to be blamed.

Dez is what he is, an overpaid player that will never live up to expectations. He has the occasional outstanding play but most of his catches with Dak last year, anyone could have done. When the short white guy(Beasly) is outperforming you as the 1WR, you might want to pick up your production a little.

I am actually ok with Dez under-performing to his contract during the regular season. What I need is for him to be monster in playoffs. Meaning I need him to will this team to W's in playoffs.

He was the best player on the field against Green Bay without a doubt.

I thought so too...but I need him to will the team to W's in playoffs. The great ones are able to do that. Doesn't matter if its him or Dak someone has to be the Ray Lewis of this team.

I believe he would've if Dak's last pass wasn't tipped. I think that was going to be a touchdown. I haven't had the heart to rewatch it but I remember seeing it and thinking that it had a real chance to be a go ahead touchdown.

The great ones? lol, are you calling Dez one of the great ones? Please stop. That's so disrespectful to players that truly are great.

Yea, but wasnt he going against a 3rd string corner or an injured 2nd corner?

I forgot but I don't think that is relevant. Good players are supposed to take advantage of good matchups. Dak/Dez had a difficult job doing that earlier in the season.

Someone definitely needs to looks past the surface. There are so man variables and nuances that arent considered in this post its ridiculous.

Dez will have a few good games, but he is unreliable. He is a mental midget that can get totally out of sync by small distractions.

He has also put together remarkable consistent throughout his career that has led to some of the best seasons by any receiver in Cowboys history.

I get what you're saying though, he can sometimes get carried away and distracted. He also has elite ability and our team is better when he is featured in the passing game. I don't believe he is past his prime. The past two years can be chalked up to injuries and not being used to his quarterback. This season, he has no excuse but to perform so we will see how it goes. I am excited considering the chemistry I saw finally develop later in his season.

Dez still needs to learn the route tree.

As a QB, you still don't know where he will be located. Wish he could run a slant on every play. Dak is right to not just throw it up to him, Dez its your craft....come on man.

We are paying him and Witten for leadership......into an early playoff loss. Gotta do better.

Dez is very good but not great....yet.....he has had some key drops that have hurt and great catches....,he just needs to be consistent.

He showed up big against GB. Hopefully that will lead to greatness

If he stays healthy next year you will eat your words.

We are a run first offense. Even with Romo our offense was designed to spread the ball around but Romo would constantly force Dez the ball. He's been hurt and now he's back with a QB who prefers to spread the ball rather than force it to players. Dak has never had a legit number one receiver and is not used to the notion that even when Dez is covered, he's open.
