We got blanked in Indy a few weeks ago, and one factor that was in play was Eberflus and his familiarity with both our defensive scheme, AND offensive personnel since he had to practice against them every day

Wondering if we get a similar benefit with having Richard on staff?

Also— was he fired in Seattle or did they just not renew his contract? Is there some bad blood between him and Carroll?

Could add a bit more saltiness to the contest if Richard is all that more motivated to stick it to his former mentor

idk, thats a lot to accept if we say "we got blanked because of one coach" and sorry Cooper has made a huge impact and Eberflius never saw him on our team

I'm too lazy to Google it right now, but I believe he was fired; just needed new blood in there.

But I hope Richard's familiarity with the Seattle offense will help us on Saturday!

eberflus is a good coach. we offered him the dc position. he declined because of loyalty to Marinelli. the legion of boom was dissolving in seattle and their record wasn't stellar. Richard was a very popular coach with the players. carroll feared he might get the axe and Richard would be his replacement. so in order to save his butt, he let Richard go and hired another dc. worked out well for us. carroll just got extended for 11 million a year. Machiavellian, but he did what was best for himself.

They've only been held below 20 points once so far this season. That seems to be our sweet spot, so I hope he does have a few nuggets we can use against them.

If you read my post I said Richard “was one factor” — certainly not the only reason we lost.
