The Right Side: Columbo and Rivera

Isn't Colombo coming off a career-threatening injury?? He's gonna be a little rusty...

Wow! A Skins fan who thinks logically! Kudos to you man!

BTW, Cowboys win 17-10 Sunday night. ;)

He had all preseason and to be honest I thought he did alright. But he just plain struggled against the Jags all game long and as mentioned he got pushed back into Bledsoe numerous times.

He was "alright" in terms of not actually screwing up, I don't think he got beat around the edge more than once and I don't think he missed his blocks. But he definitely wasn't great in pass protection even if you do think Bledsoe holds onto the ball a bit long.

I think we have to see how he does against Washington before we start talking about Fabini as some of the problems were probably "rust".
you're right, he didn't screw up but he was getting whippied. On the second pass to Terrell on the slant, Drew pretty much had to damn near jump to get the pass off because Columbo was in his grill.

In re-watching the first half and constantly rewinding and focusing on the line...the right side is where the weaknesses are. Columbo was constantly getting whipped. Rivera was just average but he got whipped early and often. I know Flo isn't ready, he is just giving up two much ground before engaging the end. Gurode has been a whipping boy but he was straight standing Stroud and Henderson up at the line, that said, we just couldn't get any push on running plays. I like Kosier's athleticism, we need to get him out front more leading the way. He isn't terrible, but should be okay. I look for Flo to get healthy. Not sure about Columbo. He was constantly getting pushed back into Drew's face. Go back and look at the first 3 drives and how Drew rarely got a pass off cleanly. We may see Fabini soon.

Columbo > Petitti, right?

Didn't I point that out the guy in the picture is Brad Meier, and that was the one play where Rivera,
got pushed into Bledsoe, you make it sound like it was the whole game.

Why hasn't anybody asked this question:::::

Were is this multi millionaire back up the Cowboys have, Didn't Parcels go get another friend of Bills player from the Jets, Paid him big money..

I'm talkin the other lineman: Jason Fabini... must be nice to make big money and set the bench.... while Bledsoe and OL try to fix things

why did parcells say Columbo did ok?

I don't know as I've not watched the OL. But Parcells doesn't lie. At least enough for me to notice very well.

However, I have no idea what 'ok' means.

If you watch Parcells closely he's pretty good at being vague when necessary.

as bad as things went Sunday - it wasn't as bad as what i saw last season. fewer absolute whiffs from the OTs.

but Flozell's dragging his left leg around like it's made of wood. not encouraging.

Some of you need to learn how to evaluate an offensive line and also give up your mancrush on Pittdawg's family.

Go watch the tape of the second Giants game last year if you want to see what it looks like when an offensive line gets manhandled. Especially at the end of the year when it's usually playing its best. Or how about that Skins game shortly after. Ya know... the one where not one, not two, but THREE players had 4 sacks a piece! Then consider that the Cowboys just played the best defensive line in the NFL in the very first game of the season.

Yup, contrary to popular belief, the sky is not falling.

And this last game is not on the offensive line, it's on Bledsoe.

Colombo, well he seemed OK. Not good either tho.

I hate Rivera. Seriously, a large salary doesn't get you any more benefit of the doubt with me. You suck Marco.

That would be a pretty good trick considering there were only 7 sacks in that game not 12.

Phillip Daniels had 4 and he was going up against Torrin Tucker. Renaldo Wynn had 0.5 (one half) sack going against Petitti.

Nice try though, you get extra points for sounding like you knew what you were talking about.

Ok, it felt like it was 12. Besides after six and down 25+ points does it matter. Seriously though thanks for the info and I'm not taking up for that poster, THUMPER. It really seemed like endless Skin jerseys over our LOS. We really sucked.
