Love the optimism. :D

Hopefully all of our rookies are productive, because to have any chance at success this year we'll need all the help we can get.

Terrance Mitchell would have had a good night if he wasn't grabbing his receiver so much. He must integrate that aspect into his game because the rules are going to work against him being that aggressive.

He seems to have continued from practice as we were hearing similar reports on him being aggressive, being in the right place but having some issues with the penalties.

I'm still trippin' at the vision of 310lb. Ken Bishop chasing down 205lb. Branden Oliver and catching him from behind, even if he horse-collared him. That's hustle. He played better than Hayden.

Yes I was amazed by that as well. Too bad that the horse collar penalty ruined the play for him.

That's the kind of play that pushes a player up the evaluation scale. He needs to get stronger at the point of attack though.

Glad Oliver wasn't injured on the play, but it was funny how fast Bishop put him on the ground. Oliver was on his back almost as soon as Bishop yanked on his shoulder pads.

That was my favorite play of the game. It would have been a TD without the horse-collar, so it was a good penalty.

Why do they call it horse tackle? Give Roy Williams his due. At least call it the "Anti-Cowboy - Roy Williams" tackle or something. They name diseases after the doctors who discovered them.:)

Speaking of Roy, here's a tweet from him last night:
Roy Williams @ RoyWilliams31

I know it's only pre-season but the Chargers R moving that ball dwn the field easy. No matter who's in there all fighting for a Job. #ManUp

If thats the case why are we letting these corners play like that? Certainly does anyone think that these penalties will disappear during games? Someone needs to teach these guys proper mechanics on how to do it correctly.

He is a rook who missed more than the other rooks because he had to finish school first. He has time to learn.

Lets just call it what it was last nite "Hey rookies, welcome to the NFL" The only thing i wanted them to do in the first pre season game was say "whoa, i made it here, and dang, this is the next level" what they do after thsi game is more important, do they rise to the challenge or bottom out. Im not mad, im not going to be irked, nor knee jerk, its the NFL, its a whole other game bottom line.

Hand to the face: Erik Williams

Pushing Off: Michael Irvin

Taking your helmet off: Emmitt Smith

Being a complete arse: TO (Well if it was a rule, it should be named after him)

Martin looks like a future stud. Hitchens had 5 solo tackles. Street looked good, and Mitchell was solid. And of course Dixon was all over the field. If DLawrence works out, this class has the chance to be very productive.

I really liked what I saw from Dixon, Mitchell , and Street.
Hitchens look good in the run game, but I don't think that he can cover.
