As we know this is his 10th season so this is about his first nine vs everybody else, yep, every QB who ever played NFL football.

Works like this, one point for...

pro bowls....8
65 comp % or better...4
4000 yard seasons....4
30 or more TD's....5
100 or better passer rating...6
400 yards rushing or more...6

That gives Wilson a,....33

Who can beat that?

Tom "THE GOAT" Brady?

pro bowls...4
65%.....1
30 TD's...1
4000 ....2
100 passer rating....1
400 rushing yards....haha!!!!

So THE GOAT scores....9

Who is next?

Remember just those first nine seasons of the career.

Ah....forget the old timers, trust me a no contest.

Yep, nobody compares and expect his next five/six seasons to be his best stat wise.

Are you counting years players sat on the bench? If you do Aaron Rodgers from when he started, 2008, he adds up to 31 without a single season of 400 yards rushing.

Part of the Russell Wilson legend is the fact he walked right in and took charge, he didn't get any schoollng, no sit and learn.

There is nobody who actually compares, I don't think most are aware of this.

Wilson the first QB to have a 100 passer rating his first two seasons.

I'm not arguing that. I'm having a hard time finding one regardless.

Mahomes is at 16 right now. That counts the year he only played 1 game.

How about apples and apples........we start them both in the same era of rules....so 2012 till 2021

Should give Russ a big advantage since Brady should've been over the hill by then at age 35!

Maybe use
All Pros (not Pro Bowls)
5000 total yard seasons
4500 yard passing seasons
I'm sure I can find others....and then make them all of equal value

I'm a huge RW fan, btw. And yes, he did hit the ground running in Seattle

The real big deal with Wilson is how he simply took over, something Mahomes, Brady, Rodgers didn't do. So Wilson just walks in and in the next three seasons he plays in two Superbowls. How impressive is that?

Then all these....first two seasons 100 passer rating.....only 4000/30/500 season...TWICE!...most wins ever in first nine seasons....most 4th Q td passes since in the league. Hell...4th all time QB rusher, 15th all time TD passes....in NINE seasons.

Nobody compares to all that, nobody!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The biggest problem here is that QB raw numbers are just different today than how they used to be, so you're excludeing any QBs from earlier eras, even those from not that long before Wilson started.
4000 passing yards is routine now. So is a 65% completion percentage. Plenty of guys put up 100+ passer ratings and 30+ TDs. All these things were rare as recently as 15 years ago. So unless you're prepared to say that Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins are better than Johnny Unitas and Roger Staubach, this is all meaningless.

I mean, you can use it to talk about how impressive Wilson is compared to his immediate peers, particularly in terms of consistency. But you have to adjust for when guys played if you want to talk about him vs. "every QB who ever played."

Don't care, just looking for any QB who...

more pro bowls
more starts
more wins
more 65 comp%
more 4000 yards
better TD/INT ratio
better passer rating
more rushing yards

......in their first nine seasons than Russell Wilson/

I can't find one.

Total waste of time

I got a kick out of proving nobody ever did it better than Russell Wilson those first nine seasons.

The guy never missed a game, three times more TD than INT, who does that? No baby sitting here.

It depends on who the current QB is to allow a new guy to get that opportunity.
Clearly, Wilson would not have started year one in Green Bay with MVP level Favre still there....etc.
Brady had a guy who had made the Pro Bowl ahead of him too.
Even Mahomes had a solid starter in place as well.

It worked out great for Russ. Stepped into a team with a dominant defense and run game--QBs best friends--and it allowed him to thrive and grow into the position.
He kept getting better and better and, I think, will be a shoe-in HOFer.

I get all that but the facts are Wilson did start day one. Then preceded to put up the most impressive first nine seasons of a career we have ever seen.

8 pro bowls first nine seasons who does that?

Three times more TD than INT how many can say that?

Who put up 6 100 passer ratings first nine seasons?

The guy has been amazing, incredible. When ya watch him play who does it better? Who throws a better long ball, nobody.

Sure, it that's something you feel like doing. But it doesn't actually mean anything.

Who had a better first nine seasons than Russell Wilson? Well?

My take is.....Russell Wilson had the best first nine seasons we have ever seen, ok prove that claim wrong.

See, now that's a completely different question.

Don't get me wrong, Wilson has been amazing. His durability and consistency in particular set him apart from the vast majority of guys. He's certainly in the conversation. But let's take an example.

Wilson has led the league in TDs once, in passer rating once, and in sacks once (that's a bad one). That's all of his black ink.

How about Johnny Unitas's first nine seasons? He was also selected to 8 Pro Bowls. He was first-team All-Pro 3 times (Wilson has never been). He led the league in yards 4 times, TD passes 4 times, TD% 3 times, INT% twice (in the good way), TD/INT several times, and rating twice. He only started 7 of 12 games his rookie season, but he missed just one game over the rest of his first 9 years (and didn't miss any in his 10th, which we know Wilson can't say). Oh, and he won two championships, vs. Wilson's one.

Sure looks to me that Unitas has a pretty strong case. And he's the first guy I looked at. Now, there were fewer teams then, so it was easier to lead the league. A proper comparison would require looking at things in more depth. But you have to look at it in context. Unless you just want to cherry-pick a set of stats and cutoffs that make Wilson look good. Which, as I said, go ahead, but it doesn't mean anything.

Just think you are having to use one of the greatest ever to even come close.

Unitas had over 100 INT's his first nine seasons, ouch. Never had a 60% season or a passer rating of over 92, that won't work vs Wilson. Wilson far more rushing yards.

And as you mentioned it is Wilson vs 31 others not 11/13, that is a huge difference. Imagine Wilson as he is right now back then,, wow!!!!

Bottom line is in Russell Wilson we have something very special, and he needs to get the proper props.

That's my point, It was a completely different game back then. Nobody put up a passer rating over 92 back then. Practically everyone puts up a passer rating over 92 now. It doesn't mean they're better, it means the game has changed. Until you understand that and account for it in your analysis, you'll just be wasting your time.
