The same QB

I think Eli Manning is a future Pro Bowler who could turn out to be better than Peyton.
This just in: Young quarterbacks (and Brett Favre) make mistakes.

Post of the day......:D

Uh Cbz40 were in any of my post have i been an advocate of Quincy:rolleyes: . I have no idea how Eli will turn out but its funny how people proclaim Eli as the second coming (which he could be) and Q is a bum when they are very similiar in what they accomplished after the same number of games played.

Conveniently ignored on this board re Manning & Q is latter's drug problem. Never heard rumors Manning had problems before coming out like there were with Q; in fact other teams reportedly surprised Cowboys would draft Q particularly so high given rumors but Jerry Jones chose ignore any rumors & we paid dearly. Q was up/down with us but did show something but there also talk he difficult deal with, etc. Little NFL interest in him since he was cut because one thing NFL teams won't tolerate in QB is inability to trust his personal decisions cause it does affect his on-field leadership.
Manning just completed 2nd season & he will improve next year. Will he become the QB his brother is, odds are probably not but that doesn't mean he won't be good starting QB--just not a great one. If he's becomes a good QB does it make him a bust if he not great.
History shows only 50% of first round QBs make it; it's the lucky team who get a franchise QB. Cowboys have been so successful in winning 5 SBs (also got to SB 8 teams) with great QBs & RBs but our record shows we are the exception & luck played a part in it. Now we too looking for great franchise QB but finding it not as easy as we hoped.
I agree with everything you said, but it seems to me that Eli gets a pass as young QB when Carter was called a bum while making the same mistakes as a young QB why is that?

Both are erratic and have problems with accuracy, both will throw the impulsive pass, both will throw a flutter ball up for grabs and yet one is considered to have a bright future and the other has no place in the NFL skill wise.
Drumroll Please
Eli Manning and Quincy Carter.
Let the Mayhem Begin.
Q in his first season as a starter (yr 3) he had 3300 yrds passing with 17TD and 21 Int's

E in his first season as a starter (yr 2) he had 3762 Passing and 24 TD's and 17 Int's

But for fairness sake lets see how Eli does next year and then compare them.

I'd Take Eli over most QB's in the NFL right now I'd say out of QB's he'd be my 5 or sixth pick...

Really, I don't know. I really don't like Q, never did. But I think he may have been able to manage similar numbers to Eli with Barber behind him, Shockey, and Plaxico. Plus, with their defense forcing all those turnovers early in the year.
Thats my point exactly I am no fan of Q either but I could never understand the level of hate for him and now seeing all of the love for Manning when he is doing the exact same things Q did makes you scratch your head.
