The schedule versus Washington is strange

We're at Washington on Dec 12, then two weeks later, Washington comes to town. I'm not complaining, but am just surprised. It seems unusual to play both games against a division rival so close together. There must be some reason the NFL did it that way. Again, I'm not throwing a fit over it. Just surprised.

The Cowboys can have the division won by then so what does it matter?

I see it happen quite often to division games since they moved to having most of them played late in the season

Honestly I think the original preseason predictions factored in here and they expected the East to be up to wft and dallas....which would make these games much more interesting in dec

I think I read somewhere that the league is experimenting with loading division games into the last 4-6 weeks of the season. Washington finishes with 5 straight division games, and the Cowboys finish with 4 of their last 5 games being division opponents. I kinda like it. Imagine if 3 teams in a division were all within 2 -3 games of each other, and then all finished the season with games against each other. It could make for some great, and meaningful games league wide over the last month of the season.

The NFL was anticipating and hoping that the cowboys and Washington would be battling for the divisional lead and both of those games would be like defacto division title games.

however, Washington has stunk thus far and seems to be ruining those plans.

At this point it would seem that Dallas only has to beat division opponents to win the division. A record of 9-8 would probably take the NFC East.

Other than the Giants, all the NFCE teams have divisional games bunched together the final 4-6 weeks.

Yeah. The problem with this for me is that Philly doesnt get onto a plane for the last 4 weeks of the season. lol

lets not get ahead of ourselves..smh

the games still matter, the 1st round bye, homes field, all matter all of it need to be a factor until the last 2 games of the season , then reevaluate where we are and the coaches can decide how to approach those final 2 games..

until then they all have equal importance i mean what IF a major injury or two sidelines say Dak and Diggs the rest of the season.

then what?

you cant count on anything..

this happens alot, it favors the team that is healthy or hot at that point in time. Not a big deal though.

Here is how all the teams close out the season against the NFCE. Washington plays 5 straight games against the division.

Eagles 5 of 6
Wash 5 of 5
Dallas 4 of 5
Giants 3 of 4

Lol doesn’t matter they’ll have their bags packed for vacation by then.
umm not in a division game, maybe the final game of the season but no way they come in like they dont want to play in fact it will be morel ike their revenge, sb type game., make a statement and try to ruin our seasons..these are the types of games you look out for cheap shots against our starters , trying to hurt them..bounty bowl stuff..

when we were 1-15 who did we beat that was Undefeated i believe in 1989 but I believe it was the skins..we have come in in similar situation as the lessor team and beat very good teams on a roll..

You need to check out Washington's schedule. They do what you state TWICE and within one another 4 weeks in a row before closing at the Giants. I've never seen that in an NFL schedule. Never.

Yep. Could be.

As much as I don't want to get ahead of ourselves or take anything for granted (Dak goes down and it's over), I've set my sights on at least the two seed.

But mathematically, which I think was more your point.....probably right.

The Giants getting a favorable schedule compared to every other team? Imagine that. Of course, they really need the help.

I think it was done thinking the Cowboys and Commanders would be the best two teams fighting for the division.....

the NFL is doing this with all divisions. Personally, I LOVE it, because it literally makes the last 5-6 weeks of the season ultra-important, esp in divisions like the AFC North, West, and NFC West. Luckily for us, it won't really mean **** because we'll already have the division well wrapped up by then lmao.
