I know everyone on here bashes the secondary including me but after looking at these numbers over the nfl with all these QBs having monstrous numbers does this make any of yal feel any better about our secondary since we really haven't been torn up by a QB yet without our #1 CB.

I still think the secondary is a hot mess. They have been getting tons of help from the front 7 and still giving up pass after pass.

haven't played a top quarterback or offense yet, and wont next week either, Detroit will shred this defense if Newman, Scandrick and Jenkens aren't back fully healthy

Who is our #1 Cornerback?

Our secondary isn't good. Just isn't. They've not, however, given a game away.

Yet.

We need to get healthy back there. We also would benefit from someone else besides Ware providing consistent pass pressure. I also think any group coached by a guy named Campo are going to underperform. Historically.

Alex Smith and Mark Sanchez are one thing but this week we have Rex Grossman who is headed to the Superbowl.

Watching us go down by two scores to SF and unable to get off the field on third and long because the Niners were consistently targeting Alan Ball and converting reminded me of the thread this week where people wanted to cut Terrence Newman because they were mad he injured his groin, and of how stupid those people all are.

hmmm, so the people who are disappointed that Newman wasn't replaced with a younger, healthy starting CB should somehow NOT feel vindicated that he is in fact missing games and their backup CB is being successfully targeted...?

Younger and healthier? No, they shouldn't feel vindicated. Better? I'm with you there. Who was that younger, healthier, better CB we didn't get again? Or are we still complaining about NA signing with the Eagles.

Anyway, the thread I referenced was on the board last week. After all the young, healthy CBs had been signed and the season started.

He already bought his ticket?

Detroit is the 1st big time passing team we face. It will be an interesting matchup.

Detroit's looking awfully good. Our easy early schedule's not looking so easy anymore. Jets, scrappy Niners team, 2-0 Commanders, and Detroit before heading into a bye week to prepare for NE. Ouch.

Let's hold off on the plaudits until we face an elite QB. A journeyman like Grossman doesn't qualify, but he did have a lot of success against us last December.

No kidding. 3-2 would feel pretty great after our first 5 games.
