Question.

For all the self proclaimed "Draft Geniuses" clamoring for Jean Giles, Jonathon Scott, Ko Simpson, etc....

Why are they still available on day two?

Are 32 teams making a mistake?

Or are you?

Wait...it must be the front offices of ALL 32 teams.

Ding. Ding. Ding...

We have a winner!

An hour ago, I was under "the sky is falling" crowd and thought this draft was horrible. But I've calmed down, since then and I'm starting to have a pretty good feel for this draft.

Carpenter, I have no problem with at all. He will be solid for years. I know some people wanted Manny, but Carpenter is a much more proven player

Fasano. This pick freaked me out when they did it and I almost kicked my dog when the pick was made. But after listening to JJ about the 2 tight end sets, I think Fassano was a great pickup. Great hands, not the greatest blocker, but not horrible either. Finds the soft zones and will catch any ball thrown his way. A 2 tight end set can help this team tremendously, especially two talented TE's which is what we know have. This should really keep alot of defenses honest and not be as likely to blitz as much.

Hatcher....This pick really stunned me. But then I read a few online reports on him and he really seems solid. yeah, he played at a small school and nobody's heard of him, but who heard of Ware before last year? Also, Leon Lett came from nowhere too, and when he had his face away from the crackpipe, there was nobody better in the league.

If Ireland, Jones and Bill don't feel Ko Simpson was smart enough to play FS (and you do have to be smart), than thats good enough for me. Besides, we have 6 picks tomorrow.

I'm a little dissapointed that we didn't pick up any o lineman, don't get me wrong, but you can't get everything at once I suppose.
BP has always been a master of picking OL(s) and DB(s) on the second day. I really don't know what all of the hub-bub is about. We are exponentially better then we were when the Tuna took over. Those that don't see it don't want to see it.

Yeh and Jerry is just sitting on his hands, he never does anything to try and improve the team.....:shoot4:

I wish he WOULD simply sit on his hands.

Hey, at least we're not the Bengals. I just love NOT winning a playoff game in 9 years.

Hatcher sounds like a physically gifted beast.

Fasano sounded weird at first, but running two TE sets as a base. Parcells has huge connections here and loved the guy. That says alot.

Carp, 2nd best OLB in the draft and a big need.

Some guys around here would have jumped up and down for Ko in the 2nd round. We got two very polished college players and a guy that sounds like he will be a good rotation guy for now and a possible stud in the future. I am very into this draft.Plus we have a load of picks tomorrow with guys on the board that many wanted in the second and third.

All I know is I remember jumping up and down for Antonio Bryant and Derek Ross. Those picks don't look too good to me now. I remeber drafting for need with Larrimore and what was the other guys name and that stud Edwards. I am sold on BPA. Our roster was horrible before BP got here. Now we have solid Football Players. I hope for more of the same on day 2.

Ernie Sims was rated higher than Carpenter.

It is also rumored that he has already had 5 concussions.

Either way he was not there when we drafted so it is a moot point.

If not winning a playoff game in nine years is the price to be paid for winning three SBs in four years, then I willingly accept that price.

except we didn't sign the tuna to make us "better". if we don't win this year his tenure will go down as a failure, not "he made the cowboys better..."

Are we any better, Still after 10years how many playoff games have the Cowboys been to, How many playoff games have they won, Yet we are a superbowl contender every year on paper.....

Did the Cowboys fix the OL last year???? I don't hink so

So here we go again, trying 2 fix it again this year, Something keeps me scratching my head and say ***... maybe its getting SWEPT by the Commanders, or enbarrassed on MNF

But in all honesty, I would love to be wrong and these picks to be awesome.
But something is realy fishy about the way the Cowboys drafted.....

Now I know why I enjoy frequenting this board so much -- some of you guys (or gals?) are pretty amazing! Seriously, with all the peaks and valleys a lot of you go through I would tend to believe you're going through menopause.

I'm not too impressed with the Fasano and Hatcher picks either but I'm not about to grade out the Cowboys draft as poor either.

All in all, though, I do appreciate the wide variety of opinions on this board.

Every move the Cowboys ever make, is going to have a variety of responses. You are going to have the sky is falling crowd counterbalanced by the ultimate homers. The ultimate homers will accuse the sky is falling crowd of being pessimists while the sky is falling crowd will accuse the ultimate homers of not being able to criticize anything. Finally, you'll have the mediators trying to balance both sides.

I personally enjoy it as it gives the board character.

...and that's the whole point of having this board...sharing opinions. I respect everyone's opinion, especially mine.
