Chatting with Felix Jones

phpoaqvixpm-300x198.jpg

Former Arkansas and current Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones, right, hands Caleb Richardson back to his mother, Deanna Richardson, of Booneville after Jones posed for a photograph with him as he signed autographs for fans in attendance at RazorFest Saturday at Razorback Stadium. (Times Photo/Andy Shupe)

Former Arkansas All-American kick returner and running back Felix Jones spoke to about a couple dozen fans outside the Broyles Center earlier today after signing hundreds of autographs inside Razorback Stadium.

An NFL representative blocked the media from interviewing the Cowboys star but he did speak to Rick Schaeffer on the main stage here. Here are some highlights and make sure to enjoy the photo to the right by Andy Shupe. Seems the kiddo was a little scared, but Felix handed him back to his mother LIGHTNING fast.

On his fondest memories: Running out of that ‘A,’ hearing the Hog Calls. There’s a lot of memories. … It’s just a joy to come back to Broyles Field.

Healthy from injured toe? I am. I’ve been very good. I just started running a couple weeks ago. I’ll be ready.

Life without Terrell Owens, who’s now with Buffalo: It’s a business decision. … As a teammate, it was tough to see him go but we all wish him luck.

Do you keep in touch with Darren McFadden still?: I know he’s been doing great around Oakland. We try to keep in touch with each other and see how our bodies are feeling, seeing the adjustments we have to make. It’s a great thing when we can communicate like that and keep in touch with a fellow running back.

The sun is poking through the clouds and I’ve been tweeting all day among the masses here at Razorback Stadium during Razorfest. I appreciate all the re-tweets and tweets back, folks. Keep them coming and post up some photos on Twitter and message us @wholehogsports to share with the Slophouse. We’re about an hour away from kickoff.

Where's the irony? I like them both.

Apparently you're not allowed.

I like em both to, they both bring a different dimension to our success and personally I see Choice as starter material where as Felix is a situational player and should also be used for st's...

I'm not sure who the best runner is on our team if you told me I could use only one a game. Fortunately they're all situational in today's game. Although they are all talented I'd say Felix has the most.

THAT is how you answer these types of questions. He's a 2nd year guy who shows more maturity than half of the team.
None of this "No comment" followed by "TO's a scapegoat" crap. Just say these guys are obviously top players and I wish them luck. That's it. Then go play hard.
Don't question your team, owner, or teammates in public. When did that start becoming acceptable?
Most of these guys need to listen to Witten do an interview. THAT'S how you answer questions as a classy pro.

I cannot wait to see this kid play again. He was absolutely electrifying the few games that he played. Every time he touched the ball you knew something spectacular could happen. He is special.....he just needs to stay healthy.

I've always been impressed with the way Felix and Choice handle themselves in public/media situations. I've never read a harmful quote from Felix. And that role play by Choice at the rookie seminar was classic. Marty B needs to hang out with these guys. I love his personality, but he could learn a thing or two from his fellow draft class.

If there is any reason to get excited next year its about this kid. Felix's vision for a rookie was incredible. He'd set up tacklers well and had great lateral ability.

A healthy Barber, Choice, and Felix will most certainly make us more effective out of playaction next year. It seemed to have little effect at all last year.

We need to send countless letters to Jason Garrett that simply stay "Give Felix Touches". Him not getting a single carry in the first Washington game was a very poor job of coaching. Especially considering he averages a TD per game.
