Is the biggest troll this franchise has ever done to the fan base when we were shouting for more hurry up last season.

I can't get over how dumb it is and that our coaches really think it's a good idea. Just huddle up and spare everyone the trouble if you aren't going to actually try to confuse the defense by not letting them get set.

great use of an oxymoron

because there are a lot of morons on the offense (coaches included). see what i did there?

I mean even if you sit at the line for 20 seconds, it does prevent the defense from subbing. The problem is that the people running this offense have absolutely 0 idea how to create good matchups, and even less of a clue about how to exploit them. There is absolutely no creativity on the offensive side of the ball.

Yeah I definately think this team needs a lot more of the hurry up that we saw last year because that's when Romo and this offense was at its best, IMO.

LOL...I'll wait to see more of how this plays out as the season goes on before making my judgement, but that outburst right there had me laughing as I read it.

I don't know the answer. But what I'd like to see -- instead of all the purported defense reading, arm-flapping and hand-waving at the line of scrimmage -- is more deception. Don't line up, and then react to what the defense does. Line up one way, wait for the defense to adjust and then shift in a preordained way and make the defense adjust again very quickly.

Maybe it's my aging memory of a kind of football that's long gone, but my recollections of a Tom Landry offense involved a lot of pre-snap shifting (too much sometimes), all designed to befuddle a defense and keep them on their heels.

Or maybe I'm delusional and just desperate for some kind of offense that puts points on the board.

Yeah, I can't stand this, they get to the line really fast and it looks like they will actually hurry up but then they stand there making calls and signals for 20 seconds.

They did this last year as well but like someone already said, it will prevents subs but really doesn't help much.

The reason why the hurry up, or two minute offense always works for us is nobody is over thinking things. We basically go out and play football. The audibles are killing us IMO, only because we are just not a very well coached football team on O. Our discipline sucks on that side of the ball and quite frankly has for 7 years.

There's three speeds at which you can run a no huddle offense--jet, daytona, and indy. No huddle offenses aren't necessarily quick to snap the ball. They just forgo a huddle to prevent the defense from substituting.

What I don't get is that Romo & the offense had multiple chances to run a play while the defense was either trying to substitute or bewildered and not set that they didn't take advantage of. Why not just snap the ball & go with whatever you've got? It'll be a free play if the defense is subbing & they'll be off guard even if they aren't.

Yea I always thought the hurry up was to prevent the defense from subbing. It has worked through 2 games. We just can't score. The defenses have gotten tired.
