I’ve been hearing it all week from the players to the coaches. Stephan and Jerry sounded giddy? The tone in everyone’s voice seems awkwardly positive for a team that’s 2-5. Either they’re excited about dinucci or know something we don’t? Trade? I think there’s 3 reasons for it:

1. cutting Poe, Worley , and Trading Griffen.
Griffen seems like a great dude but if you watched Dlaw’s Press conference early in the season, he said something that disturbed Me. He said there’s a lot of Alphas in the room (he mentioned Poe, and Griffen) but I’m the biggest one of them all. I take it that there might have been a lot of different voices in the ears of the coaches and younger players etc.

Something I noticed from the beginning of the season is that all our edge players seemed to only care about sacks and plays with zero containment. It wouldn’t surprise me if there were too many egos in the room with DLAW, Smith, Griffen, and now Gregory. And something no one has mentioned was that there’s no way Griffen was happy not starting.

2. Starting Ben Dinucci. You have to believe that the vets on this team are going to try and rally around him. He seems to have an impressive demeanor for a 7th round rookie. And with nothing to lose the guys might think, heck why not? We’ve got nothing to lose. Maybe the kid has been energizing in practice? I expect them to play loose and you’re going to see less mistakes.

3. Getting some players back, Sean Lee, Awuzie, Looney , and Gregory last week, Should help. Sean Lee is a legit threat to actually take some playing time away if he can stay healthy, and he’s definiteky the smartest player on the defense. He might be able to diagnose and line guys up much quicker than anyone we have now. Awuzie while he’s not great, is a serviceable starting CB. My goodness we need that guy back.

I'm giddy about your optimism.

awuzie is not back for this week yet..

I have a funny feeling that if our offense doesn't completely collapse our D will play a bit better than the last few weeks. I'm just glad Lee is back and I can't believe I am saying that. We actually still need this guy. He's a Philly killer and probably the smartest LB we've had in recent history.

First time in a long time I go into a game expecting an L and not feeling bad about it. This one reeks of the Aikman 11 sack game early in his career and Peterson will mix
up enough screens etc to keep our D confused. Also watch the Philly wideouts have big games due to busted coverages with DeSean Jackson busting a big one...

Great post. I hope you're right. As much as I'm ready to lose out I love a good miracle. If nothing else I'm at least excited to see what Nooch can do. I always thought the defense would look a lot better with LVE, Lee, Cheeto, Awuzie ect. Of course my hope for that unit coming together was also when we had Dak to keep the offense humming.

probably just acceptance and moving on to next stage, it can feel good for a short time. Plus I think them and many of us fans realize how flukey it is for so many bad things to happen at once and better it be that way in what is a weird asterisk year anyway then to spread these problems out over a few seasons

thats my nickel and dime psychology about it anyway

It's almost cultish how this FO and fan base thinks that outsiders are the problem and not the Kardashian celebrity culture Jerry has created the last quarter century.

It's them, it's them... because it can't be us.

i agree it ain't gonna be pretty..... to keep it within 14 points will be a moral win. But at this point, who cares for moral victories. W-L columns only. no MV.... just want the Nooch standing and healthy at the end so he can start again next week.

For a pessimist, I love your optimism.

Hey, if they get embarrassed, we start scouting prospects.

If they somehow.. someway win?? Oh boy this would be the best troll on eagles fans of ALL TIME. Remember how they held 44-6 against us allll year until the playoff win? Going into their stadium on Sunday night football with Ben Dinuuci winning would be a classic.
