This group is the biggest disappointment of our entire team. Except for Rob, I see nothing here to get excited about.

Flozell- done for the year. Incredible player that looks very average at times. Much like the rest of the line.

Larry Allen- Physical specimen. Clearly his best days are behind him.

Al Johnson- gets blown up too often. He should work out more w/ Larry Allen.

Marco Rivera- clearly not worth the money and we are stuck w/ him for a while. :banghead:

Rob Pettiti- Clearly the only one who seems to have some heart and a true gem from an outstanding draft.

We can't seem to pass block or run block. What else is left? I wouldn't mind if Parcells drafted all offensive line like he did w/ defense this year. We have no heart. If this offensive line was a good unit, we might be looking to the superbowl. Instead, expect a rollercoater ride much like we have seen. I long to have Hudson Houck back here!!!! I only hope Torrin can add some heart to the LT spot like Rob did to RT.

The pass blocking has been hit or miss. In at least 2 games, the pass blocking was SUPERB, with the defense barely sniffing Bledsoe. Last week and the Raiders game is another story... The running game has been our biggest issue. We just can't seem to get things going on the ground.

That is just it, hit or miss. This is the cardiac Cowboys for sure. No consistent effort. Really it seems like our most consistent effort is from our rookies.
I really wouldn't mind if Larry Allen and Flozell never played again for Dallas. They are above average players that just don't bring it every week. We just can't have that on the offensive line!

The biggest problem here is we tried to address our talent along the OL with picks like Rogers, Peterman, Gurode and Johnson, yet we still have issues and have no idea is some guys will make it (Peterman, Gurode), while Rogers is already done.

Our pass blocking will always suffer without JuJo he makes teams give us respect on the line.

Exactly - much has been invested in the OL in dollars and draft picks and we have not gotten results.

Well it can only be one of two things - the wrong players are being picked or the coaching is not good.

We already tanked DeHaven and brought in Sprano - if Jones campaigned hard enough and was willing to put up the dollars - maybe we could have brought Houck back to town and re-developed the OL.

As it stands, our OL is a combination of overpaid, non-agile vets living off reps or young guys who aren't capable of being above average starters (judgment still reserved on Pettiti).

And yet, we're 6th in the NFL in total offense, averaging nearly 375 yards per game...

I wonder how we managed to rack up all those yards with no pass blocking, no run blocking??

Seems to me like you seriously exaggerate our offensive line problems... this team leads the league in time of possession, even though they're not benefitting from a large advantage in turnover margin (they have one more turnover forced than turnovers lost through six games), a stat that often leads to an advantage in TOP... and they're ranked 2nd in the NFL, to Indy, in 3rd down conversion percentage...

Again, both of these stats suggest that no matter YOUR critique of the blocking, it has actually been pretty good... especially the pass blocking, their yards per carry average (3.2) is pretty lousy, ranking 30th in the league... so it would be tough to argue that the run blocking has been good, but the pass blocking clearly has been...

:hammer:

That said, pass blocking has been fine. Run blocking? Hmm... could be better, but not a disaster. Here's hoping that Tucker is able to put things together this year.

You can throw stats at me, but what was it two years ago that we had the top rated D. What did you think of them? I thought they were wayyyyyy overrated. I admit, in Philly we were incredible. I just want to know how to get that consistently. I have no idea what to expect from this line.

I think Al Johnson needs to get some nutritional advices from Romanoski and get on his Vitamin S program. :laugh2: .

Seriously, our run blocking did fine last year with lesser talent. Maybe it's bad coaching .

What does that have with your claim that we've gotten "no blocking" this year??

Explain to me how we can average 375 yards per game with no blocking, if you wish that bogus claim to be taken seriously... those stats I'm throwing at you prove that your claim is silly...
