Steelers

Offense

Yards/game ranking: 12th (360.4)
Points/game ranking: 15th (23)

Defense

Yards/game ranking for fewest yards given up: 24th (375.6)
Points/game ranking for fewest points given up: 13th (21.4)

Cowboys

Offense

Yards/game ranking: 3th (411.5)
Points/game ranking: 4th (27.9)

Defense

Yards/game ranking for fewest yards given up: 9th (332.9)
Points/game ranking for fewest points given up: 6th (17.5)

Conclusions:

Offense – Cowboys offense is efficient means we own the clock and are good at 3th downs and Red Zone. This offense can win championships! A top 5 offense is very good! The Steelers defense can slow the Cowboys down. But by the 4th quarter they should be tried. The Cowboys should be able to score 28 points.

Defense – Cowboys defense is getting better at 3th downs but still needs to get to QB better. The defense is good in the Red Zone but depends on offense to control the clock and not put them in defending a short field. Injuries are a problem. The Steelers offense is middle of the pack up against a top 10 defense. If the injury bug does not hit the defense it should be able to hold the Steelers to 23 points.

One of those keys may be Maliek Collins. He appears to be coming into his own. If he continues improving, we should see more interior pressure straight into the quarterback's face.

As of this morning, I actually feel better going into this game then I was the Cleveland game..........

Partially serious though too. Offense looked great but it was against the worse D in the NFL, or near the worse.
Our D held them to 33 yards in the 2nd half, and that is great against any team in the NFL.

But our secondary left, and leaves too many open receivers, and stil lack of the pass rush. And when / if they do get to Big Ben, can they actually bring him down.
And they have one of the best WR's in the game and we have no Mo to cover him like they did AJ Green. Can we still do that.

Key, once again, make the critical stops especially in the 4th quarter as they have been doing. And run the ball, control and pond them. I like those designed roll outs as they are showing to be lethal for making 1st downs and then some.

Looking at the Play off standings from the NFL.

Cowboys are the #1 seed in the NFC

Steelers are the #8 Seed in the AFC

At this point the standings indicate the Cowboys are most likely to win but the Stats say the Cowboys should win 28-23. If you believe in the numbers then the Cowboys have a 65% to 70% chance of winning.

The LV line has Pitt winning by 2.5 to 3. This game will be like the Philly game. They are going to blitz like mad men and try to stop the run in the process. It's going to go down to the wire.

Philadelphia rode Pittsburgh like a rented mule back in September to win the Battle of Pennsylvania.

Wait.

Dallas beat Philadelphia already. Doesn't that mean the Cowboys is the actual team winning the Battle of Pennsylvania if Dallas beats Pittsburgh? :)

Oh shoot. The Giants still have a shot at the same title. :( Then again possbily sharing that title ain't such a bad thing after all. :p

Loser: Steelers falling apart at the seams

© Provided by TIME Inc. Ben Roethlisberger played through a knee injury but was unable to get the Steelers offense on track against the Ravens. The Pittsburgh Steelers authored a comedy of errors Sunday in Maryland against their AFC North rival, the Baltimore Ravens.

In a game he clearly should not have been competing in, Ben Roethlisberger was atrocious for most of this contest. His final numbers (264 yards with one touchdown and one interception) belie just how inept he was passing the ball during the lion’s share of the game. Throwing behind, short and long throughout, Big Ben was clearly not himself as he attempted to gut out another injury.

But as ugly as Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ passing attack was, it was hardly the only thing wrong on this day.

Pittsburgh’s defense did an admirable job of making Joe Flacco uncomfortable and held the Ravens’ rushing attack in check. But all it takes sometimes is one lapse to make a huge difference. That’s what we saw take place when Flacco connected with Mike Wallace on a simple slant that turned into a 95-yard touchdown towards the end of the first quarter (watch here).

The Steelers couldn’t run the ball, either. Le’Veon Bell was held to just 32 yards on 14 carries, and Pittsburgh finished with just 36 yards total on the ground.

Then, at the end of the game, Roethlisberger willed his offense to score twice, pulling to within one score. That’s when kicker Chris Boswell performed what was the worst onside kick attempt you’ll ever witness (watch here). On top of a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown by the Ravens, Pittsburgh’s special teams unit was a train wreck.

Losing to Baltimore helped the Ravens snap a four-game losing streak. Now the Steelers are in the midst of a three-game skid themselves and have the Dallas Cowboys steamrolling into Heinz Field next weekend.

Yikes.

I would consider the line makers in LV a much better source of picking an upcoming game, than a sports writer. However that said, we are a pretty good road team and ballin on both sides of the ball. Pitt is hurting and was going against a very tough defense in the Ravens so all I'm saying is it's going to be a battle. When your 7-1 every team is going to look to get well by knocking you off.

Stealer pass rush is poor and first round rookie corner is getting picked on big time.

Pitt is different at home, and Big Ben has another week to heal up. The Cowboys can and should win, but I doubt it's going to be easy. After all, the is the REAL test for Dak!

The Cowboys opened as 3-point underdogs against the Steelers for next Sunday's matchup.

After an uncontested win over the Cleveland Browns yesterday, the Cowboys will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in the next matchup against an AFC North team on the road.

With the Cowboys at 7-1 and the 4-4 Steelers struggling mightily against the Ravens on Sunday, it's a bit of a surprise to see the Steelers open as 3-point favorites over the Cowboys, even if the game is in Pittsburgh.
