I was rather annoyed with all the Steve Smith attention tonight. Yes, he is a good player but they were making him out to being the heir apparent to Jerry Rice. Did we come to a Dallas-Car game or a Steve Smith point of view telecast. Newman's int you saw about 3 seconds of him after he scored. The camera went immediately back to Steve Smith. Every time a player scores on espn they never show any celebrations. Choice was doing his dance and they cut away to probably Steve Smith.

Smith is good in bunches but by no means is he consisent. Right now I would take Moss, Andre and Calvin Johnson, Fitzgerald and Reggie Wayne over him for starters. But this is not to say if Smith was moved to say NE or Indy that could change. He has no help. ESPN made him out to be Superman but too bad for espn that we have the the kryptonite in Terrance Newman.

ESPN likes temperamental wide receivers. That is nothing new. Heck, they talked about T.O. more than they did any of our actual wideouts.

Steve Smith is a DOMINANT WR! I cant stand the loud mouth punk, but he is unstoppable man to man with anyone CB in the league.

What is it with Cowboy fans not understanding that when a reciever gets doubled its hard to get off? Good grief. If we had Steve Smith we would've scored 30 points tonight.

Remember to apply that same logic to our own receivers.

My top three hated players in the NFL:

1. Donovan McNabb
2. Brandon Jacobs
3. Steve Smith

I found it comical right before TNew's INT, when they were saying something like, "Steve Smith hasn't had a really good game tonight. But it's not his fault! Somebody else needs to step up, and it's their fault that Steve Smith hasn't had a good game."

And then he cuts his slant short and Newman gets a pick 6.

Also, why has it never been highlighted that Newman has had Smith's number his entire career. Newman has dominated Smith every time they have faced eachother.

Save your lectures, Steve Smith hasn't had a good game lined up on Newman since the 03 playoff game that's what i was refering to if you read the post YOU QUOTED you'll see i already said he had help this time

Smith is talented, tough and fast but he has to many clunkers like tonight. Granted, I attribute most of that to the team around him. 3 of his 4 catches came on reciever screens. He really caught one ball tonight because you can throw reciever screens any time.

Steve Smith is awesome. Too bad he gets no help from the other wideouts and Delhomme is a stiff.

Put him on a team with a capaable QB and he puts monster numbers. I recall one playoff game vs the Bears where he went crazy while being double and tripple teamed.

They were blasting Ken Hamlin for his coverage (or lack thereof) on a few of the passes at the end of the first half. It's obvious that Hamlin was cheating to Smith's side and/or just focusing on him, and that's understandable. Smith is generally the only WR they have that's going to make a big play. You just have to take your chances with the other guys. Overall that worked out pretty well except at the end of the first half.

Smith is a fantastic talent and a horrible teammate. He's inconsistent because often, he's the primary focus of the opponent's defense. Most WRs aren't going to put up big #s when a defense gives them that much attention. Apart from his lockerroom issues, he's one of the best in the game.

Delhomme wasn't awful last night, for the most part. His offensive teammates let him down.
