I think we need a OG very badly but I think given the money we have tied up in the two we have...another FA isn't what we'll do. I expect that we'll draft one on the first day if there's a good one available, like Davin Joseph. But River and LA are our starting two OGs for this season and probably the next two.
We do need a stinking center though. I'm okay with Pettiti at RT because I think he's showed enough promise as a mere rookie to get the job done but the crummy center play is making it tough to run in the middle. Johnson is smart enough, he's just not strong enough. Gurode is strong enough, just not smart enough. Gurode needs to win the job plain and simple or else we need to find someone soon or next offseason.

PS, Fonoti needs to learn to spell too

He plays left guard....

Plan:
~ Get Fonoti...sit for a few weeks to heal hand and learn play book...after break start at LG and move LA to LT. By then that will provide enough time to this board that Tucker can not handle LT...

~ Long term...LA in second to last year of contract...let them battle it out next year or cut LA...sorry sounds so insensitive.

2006 Draft LT...play behind Flo for year...2007 move Flo to battle Pettiti at RT...loser plays swing Tackle

Line up now 2005:
LT = LA
LG = Fonoti
C = AL
RG = Rivera
RT = Pettiti

2007:
LT = 2006 drafted rookie
LG = Fonoti
C = who knows...Al needs to get bigger and stronger
RG = Rivera
RT = Flow or Rivera...who ever wins...other is swing.

I got it figured out....go do it Jerrah!!! :bow:

What did you do with Peterman? Has he been waived, and I missed it?

No way did he say those things (especially the second quote). Id like to see a link......and anyway how likely do you guys think this really is? Theres nothing we could trade for him personnel wise. Unless they would take a 4th round pick for him im 99% sure he doesn't come to Dallas.

i heard a report that a 4th is what they are looking for. . . . . . .

I don't want him though. LA can't make the move to T so why get another gaurd. If Fonoti was a young, talented T i'd trade a 4th for him in a heartbeat.

More proof that we signed the wrong Packer. Wahle would have been much more valuable with his ability to play T and G spots. (G spots, ha ha! Is that allowed :) )

I thought we may rebuild the O-line in next years draft. We may have to start a little early.

This is not Madden. Why would San Diego trade away a potentially dominant young guard for anything less then a knockdown offer? And what makes you think that LA, whose mobility is getting to the point that it is limited for a guard, could ever exist out in space at tackle, much less out on an island on the left side. This thread is moronic.

Because he is injury prone i dont think he has played a full season and he is coming from a year that he got hurt in preseason (i think) and got injured again? and dont be suprised since they cut a Center jerry or david Ball after he had a great season because he held out.
