I rememer talking to a Giants fan at work after that and he was talking smack on Leon and I told him I'd take an entire Defense of Big Cats. He said you can have him and I said yeah, you don't know talent and that's why we won the SB.

My heart goes out to guys like Leon who are really good guys deep down but just find ways to destroy themseles. Glad to see him pick himself up...and that's a lot of lifting.

It's great to hear that Leon got his life back on track. A lot of guys who leave the game the way he did aren't strong (and lucky) enough to recover.

The two plays Leon Lett really should be remembered for are:

1. Stripping Thruman Thomas of the ball inside the 20 late in the second quarter of Super Bowl XXVII with the Cowboys leading 21-10. Aikman hits Irvin for a TD on the next play and the game is essentially over by halftime.

2. Stripping Thurman Thomas of the ball near midfield on the first possession of the third quarter of Super Bowl XXVIII with the Cowboys trailing 13-6. James Washington returns the fumble for a touchdown to tie the game. This play changed the game from a dogfight that Cowboys were losing into the rout that most people remember.

Pleased to hear Leon's doing well in his life. I remember him more for the waste his talent went to rather than the gaffes. At his peak, he was as dominant as Ratliff, perhaps a smidge more.
