Something to keep in mind in the wake of the frustration of a loss like the one we had on Christmas day...
The story of this season is still being written. The highs and the lows we've had this season are all just a part of the story. The fact of the matter is, we are in the playoffs, and the final story won't be written until our final playoff game is over.
This story contains a lot of mysteries and questions, but these can't possibly be answered until we've finished the season. And that includes the answers to questions like: the fate of TO, the fate of Parcells, how good is Tony Romo, and a host of other riddles important to us Cowboys fans.
Until the story is over, though, all the speculation and outrage is just a bunch of verbal diarrhea from the ESPN crowd and the doom-and-gloomers around here.
This story can end a lot of different ways, and those who think it can't are fooling themselves.
If we can rediscover our way and beat the Seahawks on the road and then play the Bears tough -- win or lose -- then I think there's a good chance much of this team will return intact next year.
If we lay an egg in the first round like we did agains the Eagles and Saints, then there's a good chance that the whole thing is blown up.
It's fun to speculate, and I wouldn't dream of taking that right away from anyone... but the fact remains, how this season ends will have a lot to do with how this team will look moving forward.
