I LIKE TO TAKE THE PARCELS APPROACH TO THIS TYPE QUESTION.

Asked after their 5th win if had envisioned starting 5-1 with this team.

Parcells deadpanned......"Well that would have been conceeding a loss and I'd never do that.":)

I can play the W-L game and yes 2-1 would be nice.

But you know something guys, I honestly believe this team is beyond that.

I dont think we have to worry about winning 2 out of the next 3 and then 4 out of the following 6 to finish 12-4 and get the #1 seed.

Yes thats a practical way of looking at it and at the end of the day it might just play out that way.

I just see this team as special. They can win as many games as they need to. Why cant we win the next three, hell why not the next ten.
We should be the favorite in every one of them.

To be honest I a little more concerned with the possibility of not getting pushed hard enough by the competition.

I can see the Cowboys at 11-1 after the Greenbay game. The Giants and Pack may be no better than 8-3. Having the tie breakers and what amounts to a 3 game lead with 4 to play could lead to a loss of focus and sharpness.

Dont laugh as if its a good problem to have. It killed the colts in 2005. You want to see the boys finish with a franchise best 14 wins and lose their first playoff game.

Dont root to hard against the competition. We need it, it makes us stronger.

If we do go 2-1 I'd want the loss to be vs the Eagles. Losing to them hurts us the least. I want us to have the series edge vs the Giants (incase of a tie at the end of the year) and if we lose to the Skins that puts them tied with the division lead with us with an edge in head to head record. Plus, the Skins game is a home game. We have to win those division home games.

No matter what, the Skins game has to be a win.

The Giants are the hottest team in the NFC right now. Losing to them ties the Cowboys and Giants for the division lead with a tie in head to head competition, and they'd have a lot of momentun heading into the second half of the season.

The Eagles, I hate them with a passion, but losing to them only hurts us for division overall record, but it won't matter in head to head cuz they aren't going anywhere.

I'd rather just go 3-0 and call it a day.

Last season the Eagles took the division when they won 3 divisional games in 3 weeks... IIRC they were all on the road, but that's beside the point.

Now we have the chance to do the same thing and lay claim to the division. I'm not saying we have to do it to win the division, but a 3-0 stretch could do a lot to show us if we hve that killer instinct or not.

It would be quite a statement.

I agree with everything you said but at the same time losing to the Eagles scares me the most because they are a team that can go on a crazy run with confidence

That team is built on confidence. When they are giggling and being homo is when they are at their best.

Giants and Skins would be worse in the long run though. But Philly beating us on Sunday Night with the world watching @ home would give that team a huge mental boost.

I was at TO's first game back in Philly as a Cowboy, and I have to say that, as tough as those fans are on the Cowboys, they are worse on the Eagles when they screw up (should have won that game - stupid Lito INT in Endzone). If the Boys get a nice lead and play smart, they will take them right out of the game. I think we will need that momentum to take on the Giants at home, who are a much better team than the Beagles. Then I'll be at the Deadskins game, so no worries there. ;-)
