I have no problem with Detroit fans being unhappy that the flag was picked up on the pass interference against Hitchens. I'd be unhappy about it, too.
What gets to me is that there is no comparison of that with the hold that the announcers pointed out on Dallas' ensuing possession (should have at least been called illegal contact) that put the Cowboys in fourth down as well.
The difference is that Detroit decided not to go for it on fourth-and-1 trying to protect a lead, instead relying on its No. 2 defense, while Dallas decided to go for it on fourth-and-6 despite there being six minutes left in the game.
To me, the story of the game is that Dallas overcame its no-call while Detroit didn't while the talking heads are only focused on the flag that was picked up.
