The Tavon Austin fair catch changed this season

We had not beaten any good teams (other than Philly, which looks about like us) before the Minnesota game and had lost to the NY Jets. I think this season was in trouble way before that punt return.

I agree, but we've been close so many times this season I kept thinking it will eventually click and we'll go on a run. Unfortunately the losses carried their own momentum. This team is pressing and has lost confidence. We are playing our worst football now, regardless of competition. We made that anemic Bears offense look elite. I couldn't have been more wrong about this team, it has imploded.

After Garrett and coaches threw Tavon under the bus, this team has been different: less inspired, bland, and dare I say it lazy.

It’s crazy how one play can change a whole season
Yep, once the finger pointing from Garrett and a couple of other coaches started the players never felt like the coaches had their backs......unless it was to stick a knife in it.

They gave up on this team last off season not firing garrett and giving moore the oc job. You can't expect a second year coach and first year OC to really be well prepared like a McDaniels or Beinhmey(spelling).

I'm gonna pin this season on the dark uniforms
I don't think that's why but it sure is different.
I haven't seen the Cowboys play so many games in their blue jerseys ever. It's strange really.

I think you can use that as the crash scene site marker...sure. But I think their problems were already in the making looking back. Just draft alone....they needed more immidate help from that,so when you factor injuries...we see where that left them at LB per se,nevermind all the other issues. I don’t care if you’re NE,you can’t manage around that.

The feeling I get is that the team mailed it in after the Vikings and Patriots losses. That's when it became clear (if it wasn't already) that coaching would prevent us from beating the good teams, and that Garrett wouldn't survive this season.

That game changed the season. I was there and knew the season was over after that game. My hopes disappeared after that game. I knew I saw enough to know they aren’t good enough this year , and won’t be until there’s a new staff in place.

To me this season got weird during the green bay game.
I really think something happened either during the Saints game or probably the packers game.
since that time in the season the Cowboys just haven't had the same intensity as years before in Garrett 's tenure.
then we followed that up with the jets stinker.
this season reminds me of the 85 season. We started off red hot scoring in the 30s for the first 4 games only to unravel as the season played out. We unded up having our first losing season in 20years and missed the playoffs.

The team imploded but everyone called me crazy. I said this team looked different after that 3 game lose streak. Something happened for them to just change like that. We haven’t looked the same for weeks. Now, it’s more obvious than ever that they are tanking.

At least the special teams may do something positive by running Garrett out of town.

I see the same. I don’t see a team mailing it in or not caring. It looks to me like a team pressing and individual players trying to do more than normal. Most fans will see D Law jump off sides and blame lack of focus, but it also can be he knows a play has to be made and feels he’s the only hope to make it. Just as teams can get on a roll and ride it through the playoffs, the same can happen in a negative sense.
