Any reasonable person could see these first 3 weeks were going to be brutal for this defense. I thought they’d go 0-3, and said so even though you all said I was stupid for thinking that.

I did not expect the offense to catch fire this fast especially with the injuries at both tackles. This is the first time I’ve seen the offense perform that well without having a fully healthy OL.

Now the schedule really eases up before facing the Steelers. Should easily be 4-1 or 5-0 over the next 5. By then hopefully the injured guys come back and they get a handle on how to play the new system on D.

If you hate the way the team performed what did you expect to be better? DLaw didn’t adjust to the 2 point stance with just 3 weeks of training camp. Then he was hurt today but when he did play he was much better.

Jaylon? I’ll give you he looks lost. The safeties? Did anyone think they’d be great? Griffen? Aging vet without offseason work takes time to get going and played better this year than his first few weeks last year.

Without LVE and Lee, there’s nothing at the second level and then losing Awuzie and Brown leaves a rookie Diggs who’s been pretty good and nothing else. Lewis had 1 practice before getting into the game last week.

The team will be fine. No one should have thought before the game they’d actually beat Seattle. I thought they’d get blown out and still wasn’t alarmed. If they get blown out by the Browns, Washington, Giants, Eagles or Cardinals then you can freak out.

Funny how everyone was calling Seattle the best team in the conference but when we go toe to toe and can't pull it out we are a 5-11 team. No moral victories but I think we clean this thing up and take advantage of the soft spot in the schedule. We will win this dumpster fire of a division.

The voice of reason! :hammer:

They've essentially given away 3 games. They managed to win 1 because the other team happened to be more inept than they are. Tons of injuries mounting. It is going to get way worse before it gets better.

With all the injuries they have certainly outperformed my expectations. That said... The way in which they are losing is kinda bugging me, with many self inflicted wounds. McCarthy needs to earn his paycheck.

even tho I’m still mad about the loss and probably overreacting like always, this is very right. We even held the lead (for one 5 minutes total in the game) but that’s not an easy feat. Especially considering our injuries and lackluster play calling most of the time, along with our constant mistakes.

Dallas doesn’t even really get beat by the other man. We just trip over our own shoes most of the time. Like that drive where they got a TD because we got penalties after every play it seemed. And the missed field goals. The stupid playcalls. It’s not because the other team is essentially better (even tho I do believe they are better), it’s because Dallas doesn’t seem like they know what they’re doing. They’re like a lost group of individuals playing (at least on defense).

we hung in there about as good as the Pats did, which I’ll say is pretty good.

I thought a 2-2 start was pretty realistic as the team adjusted to the new coaching system. However, defense has underachieved expectations so far. Thought we would see some misques, but not needing miracles just to get off the field.

@Parcells4Life , I agree completely. Very good post. My take away from this game was a little disappointed but not surprised. We're beaten up and learning a new coach and got guys that are basically in preseason mode with getting to know each other. I turned the TV off and thought it's not how you start but how you finish. I thought back to last year. Last year we started 3-0 and we looked like we were rolling. We smashed the first 3 games and sputtered the rest of the year. I'd rather get on a roll in the 2nd half of the season than what we did last year. This season we have guys getting healthy and we van gel and make a run in the 2nd half. We'll be good.

This forum has A TON, many many members with what i want to call "the sixth sense syndrome"

They dont know the team is "dead"
They see "what they want to see"

This team is the pure, and excellent definition of AVERAGE AND mediocrity for the last 25 years. nothing indicates change is coming

About as expected. I had them at 7 wins before the season started and that is probably where they end up with some luck.
