The Chargers should have taken a timeout right after the Pollard running play. 34 seconds left and the Chargers had 3 timeouts left. There was no reason for the Chargers not to use their 1st timeout there. The Cowboys for sure thought the Chargers would call timeout because they should have. The Chargers screwed up and they didn't get the ball back because they didn't use their timeouts.

Maybe the Chargers thought he beat defense was the clock. That’s the only reasonable theory gor not taking the timeout. And really, it may not have been a bad call. About a 40 percent chance they make it into overtime. Why call the timeout?

The Chargers should have called a timeout because it would have given them a decent chance of getting the ball back.

Possibly. Or maybe they figured the best defense was the clock (right or wrong). Cowboys thought that against Rodgers in a playoff game that I attended. Didn’t work out so well for us.

So now we're trying to blame another team for our teams crappy play clock management....wow, just admit MM screwed up...the only thing that you can blame the Chargers for is potentially turning off the play clock IF that's what happened

Correct. We can’t control what they do or not do in terms of timeouts.

After they got that final 1st down, I would've started calling time outs if I were the chargers. That foolishness cost them the game. They didn't know that Zuerlein was a 60 + yard kicker? Idiots... I agree

Because a .400 record sucks.

What? If I’m the chargers, I’m happy to watch the clock tick away with no more plays run and a FG attempt that long. If they call TO and leave us with one we could run another play and still have our TO left to stop the clock after. So we could throw it over the middle or even run it and still have no worries about time running out

Actually that favored the Chargers not calling the timeout. If they did it would have allowed Dallas to get the ball closer to the goal post.

Yup...we have to control what we can control...and anyway you slice it we mismanaged the last minute of that game....hope MM doesn't do that again this year

We win or we go to overtime. I'll take that scenario, with a Coke and a smile. But relying on a field goal that long is not something I'd want us to do too often.

It was 28 seconds on the clock exactly when they tackled Him. I have it on still frame . It played out exactly how it should have. It was the commentators they made it sound so confusing

Uh no. We were 56 yards out. The NFL odds of making a 56 yard FG are around 40%. There was a clock malfunction at the stadium which MM has ALREADY admitted screwed them up. You don't squander the final 34 seconds of the game from 56 yards out. The chargers were more than happy to let us take our chances from there b/c the odds were in their favor.

What’s funny is this is all on McCarthy, Moore and Dak played no part at all. And Moore will be a great HC. lol This was a miscommunication on all of them.
