***First three weeks you had a good red zone offense. Last three weeks not as good.

We were a little less risky in the red zone this weekend. Especially with a 10-6 lead. I wanted to get it up to 13. ***

I remember when Norv was our O-coordinator and the comment was made that we went for the jugular when we had teams down. That way teams cant make that come back and you take their heart.

Bill is just too conservative and it almost cost against the Giants with them tying up the game and it did cost us against the Commanders.

Don't get me wrong I love Bill as our head coach but I don't like the conservative approach when the game is too close.

He has gone for it a few times on fourth so I guess it just depends on his gut.

I remember hearing a quote from Steve Young in reference to the 1992 NFC Championship game:

"I've always believed that everytime you settle for a field goal, you're a little bit closer to losing."

Norv was more conservative than Bill could ever dream of. Why do you think Aikman was such a poor statistical QB? He could just call a middle lead and the OL would blow the defenders 5 yards off the ball.

Still searching for a group of fans who thinks their team is not conservative enough. Haven't found them. I guess all 32 coaches in the league are too conservative.

Amen. I was telling a buddy of mine about that exact quote in both the Skins and this last game. (Love that Championship Game recap show, BTW. ;))

Don't forget we had a touchdown pass to Witten called back by penalty...coach can call it, but the players have to execute it...

I couldn’t agree more. Something i really liked about Jimmy Johson/Norv Turner was their gutsiness. Example (Niners Championship game) the pass to Harper.

Exactly, and I mean, I can understand his conservativeness with Quincy Carter at QB and Troy Hambrick at RB etc

but we have Drew Bledsoe, Julius Jones, Jason Witten, Terry Glenn, Keyshawn Johnson, Peerless Price/Patrick Crayton

I mean, those are big play guys.. we almost lost another game due to the conserv-a-crap offense

how many more times is it gonna take, Bill?

He went for the jugular against the Eagles on that fourth down pass to Polite. So, it is not that Parcells never does that. He just picks his spots. I don't always agree with him either way, but I am just a fan.

I mentioned this after the game. It was so frustrating and so obvious we were playing it conservative and playing for the FG with 4:30 or so to go in the game. A run on first down, a screen pass on 3rd down. VERY FRUSTRATING to me!!

Just the week before we come out attacking and we put the Eagles away! Then, the very next week we don't go for the kill and don't attempt to attack the end-zone in that drive so we could go up by 11 and basically put the game away. I really don't understand it.

I recognize you want to be careful and not be sloppy and tell Drew to make sure he doesn't throw a pick in that situation, but Drew has earned the right for us to show some confidence in him and let him attack the end-zone in that situation.

That conservative philosophy is what had us playing games right down to the wire in the first 4 weeks of the season. I really thought Parcells would let Drew attack a little more when the opportunities presented themselves like they did with 4:30 to go this past Sunday.

Well the real problem sometimes is that you can't always count on a "SURE THREE" cause the kicker misses some, but if you could I'm a take the three man, those add up and these days in the NFL get enough threes and they add up, sure seven is better but man those 4th and none sure turn the momentum around the other way. I will still say we need a great kicker and I'm not sure Cortez is it but if you look at the times we've gone somewhere in the NFC it was because we got a guy who was automatic inside the 45 or so and maybe in the 45-50 area. In the NFL that is the difference in probably 50% of the games. I know in the games we lost if you added in the lost field goals at least one of those losses was a win(help me stat guys)....

In a game like the Giants game, where they hadn't converted a single third down up to that point, going for the field goal makes sense. It was later in the game and the thinking is that the Giants aren't likely to be able to drive the field and score a TD, so a 7 point lead is good enough.

In a game like the Eagles game, who have more gamebreakers in TO and Westbrook, going for the TD makes sense. Those moves were done early on, with still lots of potential for the Eagles to put up a bunch of points.

That's the Washington game. Cortez missed a FG early in the game, we lost by 1.....

What are you guys talking about?

Im not talking about going for it on 4th down. Of course you should take the 3. Im talking about the conservative play calling once we get in the Red Zone. Here again is Bill's comment.

What I don't like about Bill is that he's back to chewing ice with a vengeance in press conferences.
