seen in a long time in Dallas is some guys seem to be stepping up and being real leaders.
I think the bad attitudes that were removed from this team in the off-season left a kind of a leadership vacuum that has been filled by some of the young vets as well as the defensive FA agent acquisitions.
With Tank Johnson and Pacman gone, and with probably some degree with Greg Ellis being gone, it looks like Ware, Ratliff, James, and Newman are really stepping up and being vocal leaders on this team. Brookings may have been the one to light a fuse under these guys.
I noticed several times on Sunday the defensive players celebrating with the offensive players after scores.
And having a vet like Crayton lose 2 starting positions in the same week, then come out and play like he has to really have an affect on this team and its younger players. Crayton didn't sit around and complain, he just kept going out and taking care of business. Thats gotta be near invaluable to have that kind of influence on the team.
And seeing a guy like Roy Williams struggle in the passing game but still make key blocks down-field sets another fantastic example.
And then of course the elephant in the room being gone, TO, has really left Romo and Witten the undisputed leaders of the offense. Although I am sure at least 1 or 2 offensive line men provide a lot of leadership, too, but its just not as obvious to the outside eye.
Just feels like there is something different about this team. We might just be getting ready to see them go on a run and play up their potential every week.
A few weeks ago I didn't think this was possible. Seems like the whole team had moment of reckoning and decided to cut all the stupid penalties and poor execution.
BTW, TO can still run, as evidenced by his TD on what I think was a reverse. He blew by about 3 guys who were upfield of him and had easy angles on him. TO just left them all flat-footed.
