I had the attitude going into last night's game that I could live with a loss. The likelihood of Dallas making the playoffs now or having any success in them simply isn't high, so I could live with the better draft position.

Or so I thought. During the game, I simply wanted to win. I was following the game thread full of fans expressing how they weren't interested in the game or were bored by it, but watching how the defense played kept me glued to the set knowing there would be a chance to win (that we would probably blow).

Those who didn't stick around to see Dan Bailey finish off one of our bitter rivals, I feel sorry for you because I guess you can't just enjoy the moment. Yes, this season has been disappointing, but every Sunday, I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan hoping my team can win and I have reason to celebrate.

The big picture this year isn't pretty, but beating our division rival at least provided a satisfying morsel in a season full of bitter pills.

This year has sucked. No question. It's been awful.

But beating the Eagles, Commanders, and Giants this season have all been points to make me smile. I've enjoyed those wins. I will continue to enjoy those wins even if we finish 4-12.

It's been an awful year but I'll take those brief moments of happiness beating those division rivals over having to be 2-14 and having lost to them.

Such a winnable division this year oh Tony...

You know that he has to be thinking that. It would be different if one of the other division teams was playing like Carolina, but this is the year where Romo could have had his worst season (which this might be statistically due to the small sample size) and the Cowboys still have easily won the division.

Throughout the game, back and forth. We kept the Commanders in the game with 3 turnovers. They kept us in the game with penalties.
They gave us a chance to win with the Jackson dumb play of the game fumble. We gave them a chance with a run back and stupid penalty.
Throughout all of that, I was thinking, if we lose, better draft pick, but I wanted to win.

And as the game went on, no way did I want to lose, especially in the last few minutes.
Whitehead gave us the opportunity and great field position, Cassell hitting Dez, and Dez having the smarts to get to the sideline, instead of trying to do too much for extra yards.

At that point it was screw the draft pick, I want the win. Which I always wanted anyway.

This season has sucked but the book has not closed yet. How crazy would it be for the Cowboys to make the playoffs and have Romo waiting for them. I have had a crazy feeling all year of this team and hold hope.

Such a winnable conference...:). What could have been.

Seriously. Even Carolina is beatable if we played them on a normal rest and normal Tony. GB is iffy this year, Seattle very beatable we almost did it w scrubs, Arizona tough but also not dominant.

Sad...

Arizona is the class of the conference. I think they beat Carolina by three scores.

Yeah. You pretty much summed it up man. I have no major thrill after that display last night. I do, however, quietly giggle inside all day with the understanding that we yet again pulled one over on a skins team that thought they were on the uptick.

I agree. This group I'm in on social media has given me a lot of heat for this opinion lol
