Just curious what happens if Tony's thumb remains an issue in the first half and early 3rd quarter, i.e. missed passes, INTs or simply unable to look like his old self out there?

Is there a potential Brad Johnson insertion happening?...Probably not as my guess would be Wade et al will ride Romo out regardless...Yet, it does beg the question, when would Tony's thumb really warrant a QB change?

I realize a lot of other things would have to happen, i.e. TO not effective, Glenn not a factor etc...But do you think it wise to wait too long to make an adjustment if the offense sputters?

More to the point, I'm not buying this Valley Ranch breakdown on Tony's thumb

You don't change QBs unless you plan on playing the replacement the rest of the post season. If his thumb is that bad, we just run with Barber instead of continue trying to air it out. Establish the run to set up the pass for once.

I don't think the thumb is a problem. He played fine at Carolina. He even threw a few nice passes at Washington. His trouble was decision making, timing and a few drops by receivers.

when did the thumb become an issue again?

Check back in the 1st and 2nd quarter on Sunday and see if that thumb doesn't become a topic of discussion again.
