1. wants the coaching to be a offensive mind.
references troy aikman, saying "u can always find somebody to coach defense". but it takes that special guy to coach offense

2. coach should be young.
possibly in his 30's-40's

3. has to have some kind of Aura.
something that the players will respect, and the fans will be excited about.

Jr's list
1. bob stoops

Both say the coach should have something to bring to the table. like a defensive genius or offensive genius.

Say Parcells might have changed Jerry's view on the coach in Dallas having control.

List of coaches with aura
1. bill cowher
2. bill belichek
3. bob stoops
4. pete caroll
5. urban meyer
6. jon gruden
7. lovie smith

In all honesty there are 2 HCs I want...but neither are available.

Bill Cowher
Tony Dungy

Cowher will probably sit out until the Carolina job opens up....I can see him coaching over there so he can be with his family.....I also think if Fox doesnt do anything this year, with Cowher being free, he may be canned.

Tony Dungy isn't going anywhere for at least a few years. He is a class act....an excellent defensive guy...and the players love this guy. He is definitely someone I would be proud to say was the HC of the Dallas Cowboys. But, like I said, he is going nowhere anytime soon, except Miami for the SB.

With that being said......who are the leftovers that I would settle for..

1. Chan Gailey
2. Norv Turner
3. Wade Phillips

At one time I was a big fan of Doug Williams (the Grambling coach)...but I believe he had a run in with the law within the last few years.....

My top choice is Rivera or wait until Cowher or Fisher are available next year.

Riviera plus another o cordinator, Troy Aikman doesn't know crap remember that TE he insisted we draft, after that no more Troy. The people who hate on JJ as a gm, hey BP pretty much ran the show and he juetisoned such has beens as Shanle, and others who went to the Saints and kicked our butts, so really if we get a new guy like Rivera and JJ has some input are we really doomed, I mean the great BP was 34-32. We got no where to go but up here..

I prefer to look at it this way, Jerry needs to stay outta football ops, and as far as Bills mistakes, Jerry hired the wrong guy.

Shanle and Fujita are not going to be good in the 3-4. Simple as that.

If what Troy says is true, why are both superbowl coaches from the defensive side of the ball? When is the last time a HC that came from the offensive side won a superbowl?

Man, people sure bust Aikman's chops a lot over this. They forget that he thought Gonzales was a can't miss and it was Gonzales that Aikman really wanted, but they couldn't get up high enough to get him. Aikman worked out Lafleur and thought LaFleur was pretty good from what he saw on the field. He was a QB then, not a Scout, but our Coach at the time was the dummy that thought Jeff Ogden would be betteer than Michale Irvin and our Scouting Department was wretched (see the Drafts from that time). Why not give his opinion based on what he saw that day?
