The two TE offense is hurting this team

It's a predictable offense that to often leaves a catch and fall target like Bennett open - it's not worth it.
Romo has the arm and the ability to work in a 3 WR set 75% of the time .
Our WR's aren't getting open because 1. RW just stinks - 2. Austin is getting doubled now 3. the routes are too deep right now

We need to spread the field and the ball, we can't go shotgun every time we're gonna pass, we lose any chance of surprise or misdirection etc.

Re watch the games folks, we're DULL and Vanilla , it's obvious what we're gonna do - we don't use Crayton enough, we don't use Sam Hurd at all, we don't use Ogletree at all. Since this clown RW cried in the media - we've catered to this fool. He's in on EVERY play.

We need to have some fun on T-Giving , show some Razorback, a flea flicka, maybe a Hurry up offense to start the game etc ...

I see very little creativity from a Princeton Graduate.

The 2 TE offense doesn't have to be scrapped to be creative. In fact, with the type of TE's we have there are opportunities to be creative in ways other teams may not. Just because Garrett is being bland doesn't mean the offensive sets are to blame.

Knowing what a team is going to do is not necessarily the problem if you have the personnel to dominate the line of scrimmage. The problem is, Garrett wants to finesse a team instead of play straight up, smash mouth football and then throw in play-action when you force the DBs up...

BTW, Garrett resorts to the 2 TE set, because that is the only way he knows how to try to counteract the pressure on Romo..

This is a good post. You also mentioned something I've been harping on today. When we had so much success running the ball in the first half we should have mixed in some play action, froze the defense for a second and hit them with some big plays.

Agree but with Miles getting doubled the field wont get stretched/ spread because our other WRs are not capable of doing so.

Someone posted a thread a few weeks ago that proves you wrong. The two TE set is great for our running game. It was one of the Football 101 threads… Not sure who the poster was though.

Kitna would be playing if we weren't using 2 and sometimes 3 te's.

Someone on Talkin' Cowboys today said the John Phillips experiment needs to end. What was that about?

Like having the triplets and the big OL in the 90's. Everyone knew what they were going to do, but they couldn't stop it.
They basically had 3 running plays.....could stop them.

These teams know each other extremely well, so they know what plays are coming. Just need to execute.

Using him as a fullback.

You are right in we are too predictable and down right boring at time.

But we are pretty successful out of the 12.
