True. Its close. You would have to tweak the signing bonus up to get to 90m guaranteed in the first two years and keep the year 1 cap hit down. Say $60m.
Romo was injured, or did that escape you. The cowboys happened to be on a long winning streak at the time, Dak wasn't the better QB....you then don't change QB's when you're the team is on a roll....I would think you'd grasp that with the basic understanding of football
When someone selective uses data to skew points I know he is a CERTIFIED HATER. P.S. 4-12 record doesn’t equal 12-4. -
Waste a total of 8 years for Dak and while you're at it burn another crop of players. Bankrupt our Cap. All this for Prescott? Dak-crush syndrome at its finest!
Dak has nothing to do with any of that. You have a top 5 QB, pay him and keep him as long as you can. Then you focus on the rest of the team. Getting rid of your top 5 QB isnt going to do anything other than make the job tougher.
Dak isn't a top 5 QB. That's the type of echo chamber thinking that has locked Jerry into overpaying players and then immediately regretting it time and time again. Overestimating Cowboys players has locked all of us on this treadmill of mediocrity we have been on for the past 25 years. Regardless, the current incarnation of the team is going to be completely shot within the next 2 to 3 years. You might as well plan for it. Dak wants a short contract to take advantage of future increases in the cap. Well, give it to him with the agreement that the deal is cap friendly so you can maximize the team in the short term. Its silly to give him a much bigger salary just to lock him up longer. If it all works out, there is nothing stopping Dallas from keeping Dak in a few years as I said.
Here we go again. Brady, and the 9th best scoring defense, got Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl. Only in Dallas are QBs expected to drag whatever garbage that trots out on the other side of the ball to a SB. Get rid of Dak, bring in any QB you like. The Cowboys aren't going anywhere until they put a legit defense on the field.
