It's certainly amazing sportsmanship.

I can't imagine that I would have done the same thing if I were in their shoes. In fact, I don't think that would ever happen in a men's sporting event.

Every once in a while in soccer, if a guy is injured, the opposing team will kick the ball out of bounds on purpose to allow for the substitution, but even then, it's considered good etiquette for the team of the injured player to pass the ball back immediately once the substitution is made. This doesn't always happen, though.

Sorry Mavs man-I didnt see this when I posted it. Mods can delete mine. I tried and no delete button. Mea Culpa. anyway awesome story. If competing fans could behave as well as the players do in sports, the world would be a better place.

this is the way amateur sports should be played.....sportsmanship and integrity for the sport should always come first....even above winning.

I saw this on ESPN and thought to myself, this is why I watch sports. I get very tired of what you get from local news etc. I'm even tired of the BS you hear all the time with this player and that player doing whatever. For me, I love sports because I believe it is a tool that can and should be used to teach the good things in life. Too many times, it's used for just the opposite but yeah, I thought this was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. All the best qualities people will ever have are displayed in this one moment in time. Anyway, that's my opinion on it.

I really, really enjoyed this story.

Very well said. The moments are too far and few, but they make up for all the bad ones.

I saw that on Good Morning America the other day. That story is what sportsmanship is all about.
