it started last night with gwen stefani(lead singer of no doubt) and pharrell williams(the guy who sings the song "happy") joining adam levine and blake shelton. here's a couple of people who stood out to me from last night's episode and tonight's episode:

Is it me, or does Pharrell Williams' analysis of the musicians seem far above and beyond the critiques of the other three. I can see why he has been so successful in the music industry.

Having said that, Pharrell and Gwen still need to get comfortable and in the flow of the show. They are very reserved so far.

Adam and Blake are as entertaining as always.

Only watched one episode, so I'm still trying to catch up, but I like Gwen and Pharrell. My hope is that Gwen doesn't rely on the "I'm just a girl" thing too long. It's already annoying. Pharrell is just plain old charismatic. Seems everything he says just draws you in.

And I still love Blake and Adam. They are make the synergy of the coaches flow.

only watched one episode but pharrell will be great.
he is a true music nerd that makes all types of music and can work with all types of artists.
a lot of successful artists are diva attention seekers, but pharrell was a band geek that simply loved music.
he can work with people and produce.

gwen was a star as a punk rock kid and has been mostly a housewife for a while so ti will be interesting to see how she does on the show.

blake and adam carry the show with their charisma and it is astounding that they are able to balance all the various work loads they have.
both have guys have new albums out and work constantly.
they win the show by outworking people in season as well.

yup, wasnt taking shots merely noting she isn't really an industry pro at this point.
she's more a long retired rock star.
much more akin to xtina who struggled on the show.
could be that she sees this as exciting and does have the free time to pour into the artist and it works out well.

Got one more episode to watch, but I'm not too sure about Gwen's team so far. Too many women.. She needs some guys to balance out the estrogen.

Pharrell is EXTREMELY charismatic. I can't sing, but he makes me want to sing for him. lol

To this point, just because you're not in the limelight doesn't mean you're not in the music industry. If you're an artist or a musician, you still work in the studio even if you're not putting anything out. She probably has a huge catalog just sitting on a computer server somewhere.

Christina struggled early on, because she was one-dimensional in her selections, but I always liked her and thought she had good synergy with the guys. I liked Shakira, but I didn't like her approach either. Too much scattershooting in her selections.

I think Usher was a good coach, overall. Generally good selections and a pretty decent coach.

I was shocked to learn that too. I am by no means hip on the music scene but after I saw he was on The Voice, my curiousity on him was peaked so I went to my friend Google. Was very surprised to learn the many many songs he's credited with writing/performing over the years with big name acts. Here's some....this guy has been around for some time and has made a huge contribution to music

Again to be clear when I talk "in the industry" I men actively producing music for sale.
There are millions of people making music of some sort.

Pharrell is a force that has produced across all genres.
Gwen hasn't produced anything of note and she is basically retired.
Blake and Adam produce for themselves and do so at ridiculous pace also working with other stars regularly.

To me Gwen's resume is well out of place. And I absolutely loved her stuff in the 90s.

Yea. Xtina was simply too one dimensional and dated. Big runs and over the top ballads get boring week after week.
But you could tell she cared and wanted them to do well.

She needed to broaden her horizons for her own career as well as her team.
