The Washington Redhawks -- could work

I don't want to get into a long discussion about whether the name "Commanders" is bigoted or not. That's been discussed to death. Instead, I'd rather focus on a new possible one, the Redhawks. IMO it could work. Here are some images that some guy photoshopped. He preserved much of the team's current look, and the name sounds similar. A college team from Ohio has already changed its name from the Commanders to the Redhawks. It seems to work for them. Maybe some people won't want to have both the Seahawks and the Redhawks in the same league, but I think it would work. Their uniforms would not look anything alike, nor does a Seahawk resemble a Redhawk much.

This could work. Maybe they should just do it. Of course whatever name they use will have no effect on whether or not they're a good team. If they want to be a good team, they have to accomplish that on the field.

This is actual the NFL Zone portion of the forum. I like the uniform, just keep the Commander name and make all the other changes.

I vote for Washington Pigskins, as a reference to the Hogs and football generally. This would also let them keep their "Skins" nickname.

I still prefer the idea I saw a couple of months ago. Keep the Commanders name but change the logo to a picture of a Commander potato. Perfect!!!

Personally just another notch in the PC police Belt. Next woman's right groups think Cowboys is sexist and demands that it be change to Cowpeople.
