The way I see this season (prediction)

And this is EXACTLY why I just don’t see Prescott as the answer for this team to do anything in the playoffs.

Well, his contract is up after the 2028 season, but after next season, he has an out in his contract. So, I think this will be a crucial season for him. I think it's highly likely that Jerry drafts a QB next year to be a potential leverage play against Dak.

I think the Cowboys will be a significantly better team than the last two seasons in a row. I do genuinely think we should be one of the top 3-4 teams in the conference. The way I see the season, it'll be crucial that we get the division round at home. Let me break down my analysis below for why.

I think the Rams are probably going to win the SB if they stay healthy. Unfortunately, I see them going 15-2 at worst with how good their defence should be. So, I have them easily as the 1 seed. So, assuming the 1 seed is out of the question for us.

I think the NFC South will be useless as usual this season, so I think the winner gets the 4 seed.

So, the final question is, what about the rest of the way? I think we should win the division. I think, if the Cowboys stay healthy, we should win this division going away. The big question will be the NFC North and the WCs. I think the Bears will likely win the NFC North. So, the first question will be, who finishes in the 2 seed? Us or Chicago? Then the question is, who do we play at home in the WC round. I think the teams that I'd be concerned about facing in the WC round would be Green Bay and Seattle. I think we can handle Green Bay, but weird stuff always seems to happen when we play them. Seattle is the reigning champs, and I could see them being tough. I think the good news for us, I see Seattle likely getting the 5 seed, so they become the NFC South's and Rams problem (and might be helpful for us here). Hopefully, we get maybe a division opponent in the WC round? We usually win if it's that.

So, assuming we win the WC round, this is where the pressure comes in. I think, if we are the 3 seed and going against Chicago in Chicago, I think we're in trouble with the climate there. If we catch them in Dallas, I think we win that game. I think that's where the most crucial part of the season will be for us. I think that's what this season comes down to. Imo, we MUST get the 2 seed or have Chicago lose in the WC round (if they get the 2 seed) if we get the 3 seed. I think that makes the difference whether we go to the NFCCG or not.
Nice post Rusty. The teams looking better and better all the time. They’re still some depth issues that need addressed and I think there will be a move or 2 left before opening game. I was glad to see them trade for Jones. That’s depth if nothing else. But most teams have depth issues at places on their team so this is where good coaching can game plan around those weaknesses like the offense has done around Steele.

Don’t worry about the negative Nancy’s attacking you. They do that to anyone who posts something positive.

Thank you, and yeah, I think it's a significantly better team from last year. So, logically, I have higher expectations for the team, and I think it's reasonable to say that we should win the division and, if we do, to try to map out the best route for this season.

Their lines are usually solid.

True, but I see the Eagles taking quite a few steps back. They'll be decent, but I think they probably go about 10-7. I think we will be at least 11-6, so that's why I think we win the division lol.

Yes. I think we will too. I think the eagles coach is on the hot seat.

I guess, but I don't see it as being that hot, but I just don't see Philly having the weapons to keep up this year.
I don’t think it will just be a performance issue. I think it will be more of a culture implosion/team chemistry issue that will cause it to go off the railed over there.

That's true, and they've had spectacular culture implosions before lol. It's always beautiful when that happens.
