The way Romo handled Dez was incredible

You know this franchise has made a significant downward turn when Tony Romo is the player you can hang your hat on for the last 30 years.

Well, for QBs since Troy hung it up pretty much is.
Now as regards players I would remind people of Larry Allen and Demarcus Ware and Woody and Zach Martin.

Dude.

It is nonsense when a Tony Romo detractor mentions Cabo. Cabo had nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys loss in the 2007 NFC Divisional Round game. It has been literal nonsense every day since then. It will continue to be literal nonsense into perpetuity.

So. Why were you the first to mention it? Are you a Romo detractor? I would have said you were not before you mentioned in this thread.

I think I am being played! :)

No one is hanging backwards hats on anybody. You are making it more than what it is and over complicated. You can't just enjoy it?

Romo had some amazing plays. Some of them were to Dez. That's it...that's all. Try to appreciate it a little if you have it in you.

Just keep looking for ways to downplay how good the 07 team was to prop Romo and crap on Dak. The 2016 team was 4-12 the previous season and 9-7 in 2017. The 2016 team was a fluke because of how well Dak and Zeke played. We had two rookies who caught everyone by surprise and it elevated the team that season.
Look at this guys reverse projection. He is SO worried about making Dak look good, that he thinks other people trying to make Tony look good is crapping on Dak.

This guy COULD set a good example. Appreciated whatever good things Romo did....

Would very much encourage people to do the same with Dak.

Instead he goes full on attack and insults...then wonders why people do the same at Dak.

 :laugh:What a load….

There’s a few acting like the Romo years were the glory days. Who doesn’t miss all his untimely turnovers with big games on the line? lol The Romo years were every bit as frustrating as what we’re going through now, if not more so. Some of you either have bad memories or are in denial.

and some like you are still propping up the corrupt regime we have now
and you want to talk frustrating?
how about watching jethro get worse and worse?
BUT then that means you have to try and defend the status quo. Which like lemmings so many do

If we're comparing prime QB to prime QB Romo runs laps around Dak be real here. Dak is very limited in what he can do with the football. Slow release, inaccurate, can never lead receivers. There's a reason we don't run an RPO offense like Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, or even Eagles. Those QBs can get the ball out quickly and accurately. All our offensive coordinators have had to dumb down offenses for Dak.

Ultimately football is a team sport. Yes Romo had good teams. But nothing like Dak has had. After that 2007 season up till 2013 or so Romo was running for his life immediately after the snap and was still able to compete game after game. Finally when we were able to get Romo a line his body gave up.

You really don't know football or are just a hater if you don't think Romo was a better talent/leader than Dak.

Not about to waste my time addressing all that drivel. You SCREAM Romo lover/Dak hater. Dak has a better winning percentage, higher completion percentage and a higher career passer rating. Plus he led the league in TD passes and finished second in the MVP voting a couple of years ago. Those are things Romo never accomplished. Both had similar careers and struggled in the playoffs. Romo had warts and Dak has some.

It’s a fact he was second in the MVP voting. He was having an MVP season the year he injured his ankle in 2020. The fact of the matter is it’s been the same problems with both Romo and Dak. One was 2-7 in playoff/elimination games and the other is 2-5. Neither QB won a divisional
round game and neither were good when it mattered most. Neither could elevate the team in the big games. If you want to believe Romo was something special when his track record in the most important games says he wasn’t, then keep your eyes closed and dream on!

Dak finished about as close to Jackson as the second place finisher to Secretariat. And whoever was that horse?

dak bots are so funny

LOL at “2-7” in “elimination” games as a bogus statistic to add on three more losses on top of playoff games, forgetting that those teams were barely on the cusp of the playoffs and wouldn’t even have been there if not for Romo. If there isn’t a more vacuous, decontextualized statistic by Dak Stans to prop their fools gold boy up to attempt to even make him superficially “better” at something.

The results weren’t any better . Romo & Dez , Dak & CD era all pretty much the same .Obviously some fans have a personal preference.

And it doesn’t matter who we think is better. In the end the Cowboys had disappointing endings and frustrated the fans. Rinse and repeat.

But I get it. Some fans enjoyed losing with Romo and Dez more. Lol

We miss having hope. With Romo there was always hope, regardless of how mediocre the team around him was.

Romo had arguably top 3 release and accuracy was never a question im not sure what you're smoking. Romo never had the luxuries Dak had his whole career (o-line, prime zeke, defense) and still found a way to win games. That's a leader.
....but as the games got bigger or with more on the line or at stake......well we know the story. C'mon Man. The legend continues to grow......and keeps changing.

Was there more hope in individual games . Sure. I’d argue it was a false hope for more success in the playoffs.

In the end the results are very similar. It’s more about who provided fans with more hope mostly cause of their personal beliefs.
