Ok so we know the Cowboys can score and put up points. We also know if the Cowboys have the ball they are already in Aubrey's field goal range also Dak Prescott is one of the best qb's in the league so far. The Cowboys also have a couple of running backs who can get the ball into the end zone. Now the Cowboys' defense, well that's an entirely different story. Last week was a total disaster, when it comes to pass defense especially on the deep ball where the Cowboys had no clue how to defend it. Fortunately for the Cowboys, the Bears don't have a Malik Nabers who scortched the Cowboys for a bunch of yards plus Caleb Williams is still trying to figure it out with new head coach Ben Johnson. So how do I see this game playing out. The Cowboys once again will put up a lot of points because they have a lot of talent on that side of the ball. As far as the defense goes I think they'll be better this week because Chicago isn't that talented on offense but they'll still be able to score some points against that Cowboys defense. The Cowboys should win this one on the road and a late score will make a close game turn into a 10 point win.

Cowboys 30
Bears 20

It will be a tough game. An away game. Bears have something to prove, as does Dallas.

To me this is a must win game for Dallas. some, maybe many, say they should win. And you must win the games you are supposed to win. So to me this is a must win game. As Dallas plays GB the following game. And many have us getting annihilated. Because that is what are fans do. And based on past history, I can't blame them.

Eberflus must put a spy on Williams, unlike he refused to do with Hurts. So what, give up a little more yards in the passing game, even with our banged up secondary. But if not giveng up those critical runs for 1st downs from a running QB. Chances are he will eventually make a mistake.

They are banged up in the secondary as well, and one of their best defensive players is banged up. remains to be seen if he plays.
Dallas' offense needs to take advantage of that big time. Get the passing game going, get a lead. Then can hit them with the run game as they need to keep players back to cover our WR's.

I don't know what to make of this team. They scored 20 points in the first half against the Eagles defense, then went scoreless in the 2nd half and looked disjointed.

The defense shut own the Eagles in the 2nd half, allowing only 3 points, then let the Giants abuse them for an entire 60 minutes.

It is only 2 games but at this point how do we assess this team?

You can't conclude much of anything after 2 games, and you shouldn't even try. But I'll do it anyway...

The Eagles have barely passed the ball or tried to stretch the field, which seems to be the way they want to play. I don't think they even attempted a pass more than 10 yards downfield in the entire second half. Which left Dallas's zone issues relatively unexposed.

Russell Wilson loves to throw deep and it's his greatest strength as a QB. And boy did that expose the zone defense issues.

That's got to be the game plan against Dallas: run deep routes early and often and watch your guys get wide open. If you have a QB who can hit them and a line that can give him some time (not a high bar right now), you'll destroy the Dallas D until they figure things out.

The optimistic argument: teams that change DCs almost always struggle on D for the first part of the season. Sometimes they figure it out and show a lot of improvement as the season goes on. Of course, when you have a team of man defenders and never play man, I'm not sure how much improvement you can reasonably expect.

That's why you can never put your full trust in them

Throw out the Eagles game . No player likes two halftimes thus the almost scoreless second half . The Giants have always been the Cowboys patsy the past what decade everyone expected the win .

It’s when you get into the meat & potatoes of this schedule like next Sunday night Packers game you can measure how this team is . Against the Bears to be honest this has to be a W if your any kind of decent squad .

If we don’t win Sunday, we’re in big trouble. We don’t win and we’re 1-3 going into GB, which is almost certainly a loss.

We would then need to win like 4 in a row because November and December could leave us winless.

I just can’t get over how brutal the home stretch is.

I had 6 wins in the official prediction thread and, unfortunately, I’m still there today.

Be careful for what you wish, me lad.
If we lose against this awful Bears troupe then it shows a lack of leadership and will. I believe this is an extremely talented O but our crappy defence is our Achilles heel.

Paragraph 1,big fumble by Sanders and he should have scored on the previous play.

They should score enough for the W

This has to be toyed with while the secondary heals and the defensive line continues it's growth:

Dallas has been almost exclusively a zone-defense team. They played a 100% zone defense against the Eagles & 96% zone defense versus the Giants.

The team had 17 Cover 2 snaps and 21 Cover 3 snaps against New York in which they gave up 22 completions out of 26 attempts for 331 yards and a touchdown. Dallas has the seventh-lowest blitz rate through two games. They blitzed only 13.3% of the snaps against New York, their lowest since the 2023 season. Russell Wilson was incredible when he wasn’t pressured, throwing 24-30 for 351 yards and two scores. With pressure, he was 6-11 for 99 yards with one touchdown & one interception. Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus must adjust his approach to help his side of the ball, whether it involves playing man coverage or adding more pressure through his play-calling.

With CB DaRon Bland hobbled and DJ Moore demanding defensive attention on the other side, Eberflus would ideally like to roll coverage toward Moore to support a younger cornerback, but that luxury only comes if Diggs can handle Odunze one-on-one.

Think this pair will receive more playing time in Chicago"

Marshawn Kneeland has 57 snaps, with a sack and three tackles. Houston has had the best per-snap production of all the defensive ends. James Houston only has 25 snaps so far for Dallas and already has a sack, four tackles, two for a loss, and two pressures.

I was taught an Honor Code at the Academy. You still lied previously...you made up a stance taken and misquoted my statement. I don't care about why as explained by yourself. You made up crap as a standard to insult myself.

Talk football now...I always return there. Your view is yours on subject, not on base level of respect.

I added a change to progress on the defensive side. You?
It's funny that you are accusing me of exactly the actions you have taken. Lying and misquoting. And worse. Making up stuff to go out of your way to insult. Sad.

reminds me of 2023 totally different team week to week

I think this will be another shoot out. Dallas winning again by 3 points.
If this secondary plays like it did last week, I would say you're right. Diggs is not 100 percent anybody can see it. Dallas will have to weather the storm until Bland gets back and by then hopefully Revel is getting close to playing as well. The Cowboys may have to play Zion Childress and Robert Rochell, should Dallas play Jaunyeh Thomas some instead of Donovan Wilson.

You old sweetie...nope, I use references on an opinion. Sweetheart. Quick, explain the Eagles. :hammer::thumbdown::popcorn:

Instead of attitude fill us in on football.
