I know we can go on and on but..the way this team has been constructed the last two years has been eye opening and mind blowing.

The restructures, the mid-tier signings, the non-signings and then top it off with a cherry with the releasing of the Kraken. Drafting Martin and the Bearded one and not failing to mention contracts that make sense .. Just proud of all these moves over the last two off-seasons and Drafts.

Ty Dallas Cowboys Front Office, as we go into the Draft Fans couldn't be more excited to grab the Best Players Available and look toward a positive future.

Go Dallas!

This league wants every team to be 8-7 with a chance to make it into the playoffs their final games.
That is the ultimate goal and the only way to stay ahead of the game is to stay ahead of the game.

I could never say that about our team that we love since the 60's and 70's and I wasn't alive in the 60's! Figure that one out...
We have honestly been playing catch up for the past 2 decades and just now are we catching up...

I do like the fact that McClay is looking overseas at talent. That's how the Spurs got ahead of the game all those years ago and they haven't let loose their grip on their league yet.
It's time this team started doing things that pushed the envelope smartly. Time to get ahead of the game instead of running just to catch up with everyone else.

To me, it all begins with keeping Garrett and letting him put his stamp on the team. He was overwhelmed trying to do it all, but with Marinelli and Linehan on board he is free to lead.

People laughed at the RKG stuff, the training quote and the 'process', but the best franchises have stability.

This is what I've been waiting for the last 20 years.

I was starting to feel it the last few seasons, but was doubtful that it would last. I feared that the FO would revert to their old ways.

But they are still consistently doing a great job. I'm a believer in whatever the FO is doing and planning to do, because it seems to be working.

With that said however, I really hope they don't do something stupid and go against everything they've been about the past few years. I'm talking about signing a certain aging (though talented) player to a huge contract. I am doubtful that it will happen, but I still feel deep down that it's possible (Jerry is still the owner)... and I fear that a move like this would bring us back to square one as far as roster management. I hope we don't look at 2015 as our 1 chance to win a Super Bowl, and mortgage our future to get there. But I'm confident that won't happen.

Quarterback will go a long way in determining years to come..

While things true to a certain extent, I'd say our roster management is superior to where it was in say 1999 or 2000. When Romo exits, we look like we will be in a better position for a young Quarterback to succeed than in the post Aikman era.

I'll say this repeatedly and continue to say it...I think the Jay Ratliff fiasco is going to end up being the best thing that has happened to the Cowboys organization since the last Super Bowl victory.

Not only did it show that players that are 30+ years old can fall apart, but I think it angered Jerry enough that a veteran could simply sign a big deal and chose not to play and claim that he is 'injured' and screw over the organization.

I think that finally convinced Jerry to try things another way.

With guys like Ware who struggled with injuries, at least they played and were grateful to Jerry for giving them the money. I don't believe that changed Jerry's mind one bit. But once Ratliff pulled his nonsense, I think it made Jerry quite bitter about it and I think he's vowed to not have that happen to him again.

The future of the team is very much up in the air. I don't feel we are set by any means.

I think Garrett's big thing has been coaching. We've had talent come thru the organization as the stat shows that Jerry has the highest percentage of drafted players that made the Pro Bowl at least once.

But, we've never quite had the coaching. And it is not only about the head coach and the coordinators, but it is about the position coaches as well. That's really the first thing that Garrett talked about here *before* the entire RKG talk...he wanted to develop a 'program.' Something where you know what to expect from the organization each year whether you're a player, an opposing team or a coach with the organization.

Much like you see teams like the Patriots, Ravens and Steelers. You know that each year the Patriots are going to play disciplined football and are a well coached team. The Ravens are going to play good defense and tackle hard. And the Steelers use their linebackers to lead by example for the franchise.

As Garrett said at last year's first meeting with the players...you're going to get coached here. It doesn't make a difference if you're a multi-time All Pro going to the HoF like Jason Witten or the UDFA rookie like Tyler Patmon. You're going to get coached. And the RKG stuff is about players that are willing to be coached and respond to being coached.

I was very skeptical of Jason going into the year, but he finally convinced me that he was willing to stop being a pass happy head coach and that showed to me that he was willing to put his ego aside and do what it takes to put the team in the best position to win the game.

Kudos to Garrett.

RKG always included Dez (they drafted him, remember?) and I believe you meant O-Scan (drafted) and Hardy and Ro Mac (voluntarily signed and signed twice).
That's why they were signed. They were and are RKG's.

I don't want to get into an RKG dissertation of meaning with anyone anymore. That battle is tired, but dude:
I expect you- as a poster I have read for some time, to know better than to make such a statement.

You know what an RKG is by now.

Yep. It doesn't mean choir boy. None of those four guys are free from controversy: Dez - Wal Mart scandal and mom incident, Oscan - molly incident, Hardy - domestic violence, McClain - retirements and house fire.

And I bet good dollahs nowhere will Jason Coach Garrett go public saying "This guy is not my RKG. I just have no choice..."
Garrett, like every other coach wants talent and DOG in their players. He played with Irvin when the White House was lit up every night!

You can't fool me with those RKG Choir Boys routine... that ain't happening.
I meant "you" generally, of course. Unfortunately I spell things out for the lesser minds sometimes.
Not you, but "you".
And not "you", but you...
Ha! I'm confusing myself now! I should end this by saying I'm not confused, but being "esoteric".
It worked for Nikolai and the last Russian czars for years...

It's almost like all that complaining that was going on the last three seasons while the pieces were being fit together was wasted energy and unnecessary negativity. Which is weird, because I never saw that coming.
