Another post that might have to be moved...but, can someone tell me why there are big chains hanging from the weight bar when players are doing reps? Why the chains...?

I was thinking that maybe they have to chain the weight bar from someone grabbing it from the bench to go smack Igor upside his foolish head!

To vary the resistance. As you get lower the resistance decreases as more chain is on the floor. Conversely at the top of the movement (near lockout for bench or squat) resistance is at its greatest with maximal chain hanging.

It's accomodating resistance. The closer you get to full extension on most exercises (squats, bench, deadlifts), the stronger you get. The chains match that by making the barbell heavier toward full extension as they unload off the floor. They sort of train you to be explosive as you try to "outrun" the added resistance of the chains.

Good stuff, really...but it's all part of Honoring JFK. Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. Starting in the weight room, LOL. :starspin

******, everyone's boxers were all messed up waiting on the notification that Rob Ryan was officially on staff now....ain't rocket science when not being spoon fed.

NBC news did an honor piece, and that involves the good 'ol premise of giving, and the players will have a huge dose of demand for just that now...but since you are about being a Cliff Notes junkie and being a hall monitor now...carry on.

So, yeah, maybe we lost the war because WE could not understand a damn thing our "supposed" leaders were tellling us!

Yep, ate too much kimchee I see...that, or didn't get your silver bullet on time. As to foolish, translate....han duckee, han duckee. That after consolidating following a push through a village and a toothless 'Apogee' comes up and touches your arm lightly.

Foolish, is a whole platoon with bloody jock rash from poor laundry facilities...or try detailed with a lighter, two five gallong cans of diesel, and a shovel.

Oh, the the 'retreat' was due to political stances...which Lyndon Johnson gave it all up in attempting to change...and the Air Force Mafia, who were prosecuted and given prison sentences for developing and employing what later BECAME doctrine in the field for the Air Force...and the center of Shock and Awe, just for the record. Dogface. I was one also...oh, and han duckee, han duckee, was that old man trying to pass evil spirits into the American.

They reported to camp in shape. Go figure why they didn't get into game shape until Jason Garrett took the reigns. Just saying now....
