... and any incoming coach looking over his shoulder doesn't hold water, IMHO. If the guy does his job, regardless of who he is, his job is safe. Jerry's not gonna fire a guy who leads the Cowboys to double digit wins and further into the playoffs than Parcells did just because someone wants to hire away his OC as head coach. I think the media got wind of Jerry's plan to have Garrett coach and learn under Parcells for a year or two and then take over when Big Bill retires. I think they're speculating that Jerry is bent on this path, regardless of who the head man is. Here's hoping that the "experts" have gotten the whole tenor of this ordeal entirely wrong and the search is still ongoing after the Super Bowl. I think it's a real possibility.

Yeah, I really don't think Garrett is being "groomed" for the HC job. I think he's a bright young offensive mind, and as such was hired onto the offensive staff, most likely as the OC. With any coordinator hire there's the potential that he'll be the future HC. Garrett's future in the NFL looks bright, but there's no sense predicting what happens 3-4 years down the road.
