i had no problem with us running it 4 times

the problem is running it over and over again out of the same formation

same play all over.

then we line up barber at fb and im thinking maybe a toss to the outside for felix

no. staight up the gut, stuffed again.

the problem isnt that we ran its how we did.

i cant let the o-line off the hook though. there was no push on any of those runs

theres times when teams know your gonna run it up the gut and punch it in but your o-line is so over bearing in goal territory. ours just wasnt

Good question, I was all for it the first two plays but then when it got to 3rd, I could see the Chargers defense was getting all charged up, excuse the pun. I think running the ball in was a good idea, but that the plays called just weren't going to work, I think Simms mentioned that he didn't like lineman pulling on goal line plays. It seemed like there were way to many gaps in that line for the defense to penetrate.

Right or wrong, the game turned on that goal line stand.

Running 4 times was not the problem. It was the OL and Barber who were the problem. They should have given it to Felix, he was the horse on that drive, and he has the speed/quickness to break it outside, unlike Barber.

On the 4th down goal line play, I was screaming to pitch it to Felix instead of giving it to the upback (Barber).

More and more, it looks like Barber is better suited to be a change of pace back/closer. 4 times he fails to stick it in from inside the 5. :shakeshead:
