The winner of the 1st round is Deuce Vaughn

Deuce Vaughn.

Not saying he is all that. But look at all the good fortune he has had this offseason. He gets the OL coach he had in college to pair up with Beebe. And now he gets the perfect right guard for his running style. The kid has got to be bouncing off the walls waiting for another chance to prove he belongs. The odds are long, but I root for him to prove everybody wrong.
There are 6 rounds left in the Draft.

Each of those remaining rounds will have 5 to 10 guys available, all of whom will be better than Duece Vaughn

It was a feel-good pick. A novelty. That's a lousy way to build a roster.
As for Dowdle, yes he did go over a 1,000 yards and had a 4.6 avg. But out of 235 carries he had only 2 carries over 20 yards. The 'Boys need better than that.

Give the dude 2 FULL series at tailback. Watch him excel. Yall writing him off because he got ZERO shots to be a real ball carrier.

Fortunately I watched the games and I saw the situations he was put in.

When he was in a situation that gave him a shred of a chance for success he looked pretty good.
His next stop may be the UFL.

You have your opinion and I have mine. Just because you are louder about it does not make your opinion more valid than mine.
You would consider starting a back that has a 2.8 career average and can’t block. That makes no sense. He was a 6th round pick for a reason.

who is Vaughn?

Maybe it's that second beer talking but I think Deuce has an opportunity to eclipse his average productivity and reach the lofty height of 3 yards per carry.

Dare to dream.

Weaknesses

  • Measurables fall well below NFL norm at the position.
  • Takes runs off track unnecessarily at times.
  • Needs to be quicker through the line in the pros.
  • Runs with unusually long strides for a short back.
  • Struggles to find instant acceleration after tapping brakes.
  • Not built for blitz pickups.

I agree. They have never given Duece a shot at all. 0-2 carries a game gives nobody a chance
