How great was that? While I don't think he should have gone back in and they were right for holding him out, I admire his fire and desire to go back in. He is the ultimate competitor and hates leaving his teammates out by themselves. I would go into battle any day with Jason Witten. I'll take 53 of him, please.

Yep.

Just about the only guy who seems to care.

Romo get's pissed and Barber tries to get all hyped but Witten really cares.

My feelings exactly. I wouldn't have let him back in the game either but I loved seeing his fire and dedication.

Couldn't agree more. He's easily, and has been for a few years now anyway, my favorite Cowboy. It means so much to him.

I love witten and his passion for the game, but i can't help but get on him for that interception. I know everyone on here is probably going to disagree and kill me for saying this, but it was kind of on him.

Yes it was a bad throw by tony and in no way should tony get mad at witten, but in my opinion witten could have gotten two hands on the ball. It would have stopped his momentum and he would have had a better chance of getting hit, reaching back for the ball, but he lazily reached back with one hand and tipped it in the air.

If he doesn't tip it, it hits him on the back shoulder. Now you cant tell me that if a ball hits u on the back shoulder that u can't get two hands on it.

I still blame romo for the bad throw, but i don't think witten tried hard to catch it.

Just wanted to put that out there, Now i'm going to duck......

The interception was 50/50. Romo threw it too far behind him, but it's a pass that Witten usually catches.

Great players make mistakes. It happens.

Witten isn't a very flexible guy. He's not gonna catch everything near him ala Miles or Dez. Throws to him have to be precise, and Tony didn't make a very good throw.

Romo seemed to be pretty erratic at times today

I liked seeing his passion. I am also glad the training staff held their ground. I am being serious here, but i fully expected them to go back to Witten only to see him pleading his case to Jerry on the sidelines.

it was a bad pass. You can't expect Witten to make that catch.

He did it in the Skins game, too. If the pass is off target, he seems disinterested in even attempting the catch.

Glad i'm not the only one that thinks this too.

I don't agree with you my friend. Witten has caught balls that weren't precise plenty of times. This one is one that he so happened not to catch, nothing more.

Its one thing to be a receiver on the outside and not go all out for a ball. But u can't lazily tip a pass in the middle of the field. Those have a great chance of being intercepted all the time. Does anyone have a video of the play. Maybe i was wrong seeing it live but i think he could have tried harder to catch it

I could be totally wrong, but in the Commander game and perhaps here too, I think Witten was uncertain about going for the ball, thinking it was intended for someone else.

If you watch the video from behind Romo, you see the ball was thrown prior to Witten turning around. By the time he got his head around the ball was to his left. He put up his hand as an instinct. He probably would have caught it if is was thrown to his body but no way he catches it when he got his head around.

I really don't think he saw this ball all that well.

Like it snuck up on him.

Exactly. Blaming him for not catching that ball is ridiculous.

From the looks of it, I think Witten told the trainer that he, the trainer, cost them the game.

LOL wow all the excuses foe Witten. What made the play worse is he gave up after he tipped it, didn't even bother to look where it went or even make any kind of effort on trying to tackle the guy who caught the ball. If RW did something like that people would be calling for his head. Just goes to show you how far fans will go to make excuses for players they like.
