A play is considered successful if it gains 40% of the yards needed on 1st down, 60% on 2nd down, and 100% on 3rd/4th down. In the last two seasons prior to this one, the most productive red zone receivers were Witten, Dez, and Beasley. With two-thirds of that production gone, defenses can now focus on Beasley and stopping the run.

Witten and Dez accounted for more than half of Dallas' successful red zone pass plays in 2016-17.

Today vs. Philly

ZERO successful red zone plays in regulation (out of six plays), and we still scored 23 points.

Three successful red zone plays in overtime:
1. Zeke on 4th and 1
2. Dak runs for 5 on the next play (1st & 10)
3. Coop's 3rd TD

This team just finds a way.

I wonder what is weighted for pass protection.

Some of it is also the yin and yang of having marginal talent at TE, in the middle of the field, compared to one of the best route running TEs in NFL history.

Amari is better than Dez, and it looks like he's building cohesion with Dak, so i'm praying this translates into some RZ success.

It's ugly though, no doubt.

We have to figure out red zone offense if we are going to do anything in the playoffs.
