looks pretty good

that Sherlock Holmes movie however, looks badbutt

I dunno. Downey Jr has been making some decent flicks lately. Ironman was pretty solid.

Looking at the pictures released months ago, I was pretty skeptical about this movie.

This trailer is 100% pure bad ***, though.

Universal is remaking lots of their old classics because A they are out ideas and B the copyright is about to expire on their old movies catalog.

I've read the script and I must say it will either turn out to be "Raiders of the Lost Ark" or "Wild Wild West" depending on how Guy Ritchie handled it.

Holmes is more bond like in this, doing round house kicks, slow motions fight sequences, and bedding women.

Great cast however, but its wait and see if this version works and launches a subsequent adventure franchise.

There's a really cool script at Paramount right now that supposes Harry Houdini was an American spy in world war I, its really clever, he's a ready made spy as he can pick any lock ,escape any prison, survive drowning and being buried alive, knows how to fly a plane, the story is very involved as well as he's sent to steal blue prints from the Kaiser, save the Romanovs from the Bolsheviks and perhaps participate in a plot to assassinate Lenin.

Very clever script.

that does look pretty clever, I was playing around in my mind a movie set during WWII where a German SS soldier escapes his unit to get away from the Russians, as the Russians are advancing on Berlin, so as he's trying to get away from the fighting, he has to deal with the destruction all around him, all the while being chased by former SS comrades sent to kill him for deserting, and of course the Russians are all over the place

idk, it's not that hard to come up with a movie idea, and that idea took me like 2 minutes to formulate while you have these highly paid writers whose best idea is another remake

There's another creative script set up at paramount called "The Assassin's Epilogue"

It supposes that John Wilkes Booth is not dead, and escaped the inferno of the barn he was allegedly shot and killed in, he's gone on to live a secret life in Texas under several aliases, and his true identity is divulged in a death bed confession--except he survives the night and recovers and flees.

The Pinkerton Detective Agency gets wind of this and sets out to pursue him, not to arrest him but to recruit him, a past associate of his and a distant conspirator in the Lincoln assassination is an abortion doctor and misogynist suspected of murder on both sides of the Atlantic, in London he's known as Jack the Ripper.

Booth, much like Hannibal Lecter does to Buffalo Bill, is a consultant to the Pinkerton's on how to capture him.
Booth is even appointed to reestablish contact with the murderer in an effort to capture him.

Fascinating concept, the assassin becomes the detective Uncle Sam has to use to bring a serial killer to justice.
