1. Louis Nix III, DT, Notre Dame
Always moving forward, activate hands and has a very nice motor - especially for his size.

2. Lamarcus Joyner, FS, Florida State
A big key to the Tampa D is a FS that can cover sideline to sideline. Joyner has great versatility (can play nickel corner and special teams) and plays with a chip.

3. Anthony Steen, OG, Alabama
Comes from a great program obviously but plays smart and has the feet you want in the ZBS we now employ. I'm thinking LG here to replace Leary, who was the worst of the bunch this year.

4. Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia
Would be going higher if not to an ACL tear. His rehab keeps the heat off Romo and he gets time to learn.

5. Taylor Hart, DT/DE, Oregon
Versatile (can play DT, DE and stands up as a rushing OLB), large (6'6" 290) but raw. Very productive in terms of making tackles and plays the run well, but needs technique work.

7a. Bryce Quigley, OT, San Diego State
OT Depth. Played LT but may be a better fit at RT.

7b. Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson
Great size and speed but very raw. Averaged 20 yards per reception in 2013... which was down from the 30 per reception he averged in 2012.

7c. Xavius Boyd, OLB, Western Kentucky
Stepped in to replace Andrew Jackson (suspended) and did a spectacular job playing pretty mediocre competition. Looking more at special teams initially, as I think we address LB depth with affordable FA's.

Like the first 3 picks. But i think the Joneses are going to be all about fixing this DL before anything else.

Problem with Louis Nix is he's not the type that Marinelli likes. Now providing Marinelli stays i dont think u will see any DTs that are over 305 lbs in Dallas. He prefers these guys who are are sub 300. 290-305 range guys. You never know about Nix tho he is talented, but i think If it was between Nix and Tuitt my money would be Marinelli wanting Tuitt.

Broaddus actually spoke about this. And he said that Frank kearse was kinda forced on marinelli by Clay. Talking about Kearse's ability and they should take a look at him. Kearse rarely played.

i like your draft a lot

pair this with

ware takes pay cut
give that money to greg hardy
try to resign spencer to a cheap 1 year deal

suddenly the DL can be a strength

to me, DL (3 new starters), starting caliber FS, and starting caliber OG are the biggest needs

I like it.
I'd probably look DL again round 3 versus an OG who may well not beat out Leary or Bern but the rest is pretty darn good.

Joyner is becoming a pet cat for me.
We so badly need an athletic Safety who can cover.
Only worry is he should rise a lot before the draft and could require a R1 or high R2.

I'd also like a LB ideally. We are seriously in need there as well.

joyner would come in and immediately become the emotional leader of this defense. i'm convinced he's earl thomas 2.0.

I don't disagree.

I think Tuitt fits more what Marinelli is trying to accomplish, and to be honest, I'd be happy with either. I do think, however, that while Tuitt might be the more pure pass rusher, Nix's ability to cave in a pocket adds something to both the pass rush and run defense.

I think if we're looking to plug in a Hatcher replacement, Tuitt might be the better choice but if we're looking to add something different to the D, then Nix might be the choice

I wish we could get both!

I like it.

I hear ya, I just don't want to ignore the offensive line, I think we need to keep building both trenches and I don't expect to fix the entire DL in one draft just like it took more than one draft to improve the OL.

Lamarcus Joyner
Height: 5076
Weight: 190

I'm I the only one that noticed that the NFL is being dominated by really big WRs and fast athletic TEs that are 6-6?

3. Anthony Steen, OG, Alabama

Leary was at worst the 3rd best OL this year. He is a better player than Bernadeau and Free. He had some games where he was better than Fred.

It's not just my opinion. He was selected to the All NFC East team.

Steen would be ready early, but appears to have very limited upside. He would have bee a better choice last year when they just need anybody to step up on the OLine. This year I would prefer OL with very high upsides, even if they are a bit more raw from a development prospective.

Nix instantly upgrades the run D. However a guy his size who relies on quickness with knee issues is worriesome IMO.

I disagree. The fact that Leary made the NFC East team doesn't change my opinion on him, but experience can only help him.

I don't know that he RELIES on quickness, but yeah, knee stuff is never good.

I want nothing to do with Murray. He has the physical tools, but he makes too many mistakes for my liking.
