1. CB/FS Patrick Peterson, LSU — 6'1" 222
Keeping the dream alive. He could play any position in the secondary with success.
2. OG/RT Marcus Cannon, TCU — 6’6" 350
Cannon is massive and has manned the left side well for TCU. No doubt he could play RT or G in the NFL, versatility is always a plus.
3. OG/C John Moffitt, Wisconson — 6'4" 322
Another lineman with versatility and a bit of a mauler. Can play any interior line position, so he can easily find a spot on the active roster.
4. NT/DE Kenrick Ellis, Hampton — 6’5'' 340
Massive NT that allows us to move Ratliff to DE. Played against lesser competition but was a man amongst boys.
5. ILB Casey Matthews, Oregon — 6'2" 238
Would love for him to be an inch taller and 5 lbs heavier but he's got great instincts, a great motor and not bad in coverage.
6. FS Mark LeGree, Appalachian State — 6'0" 200
Playmaker in the secondary. I'm not ready to give up on AOA, but LeGree might have something.
7. RB Allen Bradford, USC — 5'11" 235
Our new power/short yardage back. Compact power runner with lots of upside.
Some will dislike moving Ratliff out of NT but my logic is this. If we would be happy with Fairley's disruptiveness at DE, then why not Ratliff? It wouldn't mean he would never line up at NT again either. Versatility is a good thing.
I had to get my pets in there anyway, Kenrick and Casey are two guys I'm really hoping we roll the dice on. Looking forward to seeing them work out.
